Well since Golfinut is deeming this theme day for golf shots, here's one.

 

Comments you have heard from your playing partners or that you have made to your playing partners about an errant shot.  it can be comments made to encourage them or to make fun of them, either way.

 

Here's a couple to get started:

 

  1. I think it opens up over there-For a shot that goes so far right (or left) beyond the tree line that you can't see it.
  2. You should be able to play that one-For the same type of general shot as above.
  3. I think it landed softly and isn't too far in-For a shot that definitely bounced into the trees

And my personal favorite

  • Well that's like putting Whip Cream on Sh!&-when you sink a 20 foot putt for triple bogey or worst.  :wub:

That shot looked really good... til it wasn't.  (For a shot right at the pin that falls short in a bunker, water, or goes over the back of the green.)

Along with. "Man don't you hate it when they go straight" as in youve sliced your last three drives, so you set up for it and dead pull it into trouble. Ha

On short par 3's where the ball makes it a few feet from the tee box, my favorite is “nice layup”

I have a guy that I play with who is clueless about reasonable expectations and outcomes. I've heard, "Ah too bad" when I've missed the green within ten feet of where I was aiming from two hundred yards. I'm a single digit player and ready to dance a jig and he's a 16 who thinks that I just hit a crappy shot. :)

I used a new one today that is a tribute to ole gray and his signature...  Seemed appropriate at the time.

 

My wife and I played with another couple today.  The guy is about a 24 hcp and hit one of his tee shots into the adjacent fairway.  I said:  "Al, you are the most interesting man in the world. You don't always hit the fairway, but when you do, it's not yours."
