Reached-out to a friend inside Callaway and the Chrome Soft 3-for-1 personalized is available at green grass where the pro is a Callaway staffer.

They told me where to go in San Antonio to order.

I use both the Cut Blue and the Cut Grey. The Blue is a 4 piece ball that has a slightly firmer feel. The Grey is my favorite though, 3 piece, softer feel. Both are great and I highly recommend them.

Someone reccomend a good budget ball. Considering hitting up LostGolfBalls or eBay and buying some in bulk to either add to my shag bag or use on the days when I go practice and don't necessarily care if I lose some to the woods.

I'll vouch for both of them. If you want to buy brand new urethane balls at a low price, they're both solid. Especially for someone like me that can definitely tell the difference between urethane and surlyn but can't really distinguish between different urethane balls.

Boys and girls, this is VERY preliminary, but the OnCore Elixr is currently beating the Chrome Soft X, and the TP5X in my on-course comparisons!!! No joke! Elixr is absolutely LEGIT.

That's awesome news. I'm really hoping that the Genius will play like the Elixr, even with the chip in it. It would be nice to swap a $3-4 ball in for the $25 Genius for those holes where you're more liable to lose one.

Im a ball ho. Last yesr I played mostly PROV X. But also played a good bit of z-Star, TP5X, Bridgestone Tour B RX, e6 and Chrome Soft.

Should probably try and stick to one this yesr. But Vice and Cut as well as Snell all are very tempting.

I have had the best luck with the Srixon Z Star ball. It seems to have less side spin than the Pro V1 or V1x, which both side sp N for me about like the Z Star XV. Tried Chrome Soft, Vice, and MTB but they were notably shorter off of the driver for me and I have gotten better green side spin with the Srixon. I need to stick with it but I end up playing a lot of balls that I find. It's an old habit from when I was a broke high schooler trying to play and I have never been able to break it.

... Fellow Ball Ho. I have been playing some Chrome Soft X balls along with Tour Preferred and TP5x here in Phoenix. 8 rounds into 30 rounds in 30 days. FYI, the PGA Superstore has ProV1x practice balls for $29.99 a dozen and two dozen for $50. I just take a magic marker and black out the PRACTICE which then looks like a thick alignment aid.

... But I just took advantage of the Taylor Made TP5x promotion "buy 3 get one free" with personalized golf balls. I am not a fan of personalization so just ordered a black  .  which is pretty much invisible. I had $120 in a Dicks cash coupon so 4 dozen only cost me $5. The thing I love about the Dicks CC is it pays for my balls and shoes and more. I use it for everything like a debit card paying it off every month and really rack up the cash coupons.

Waiting for the AVX to come out. I have 48 FG Tours and a few Z Stars. Interested in the new Titleist offering.

I really like the AVX but not crazy about price. $48 doz is expensive for my game/handicap.

Don't know if it's just me, but the Tour B XS ball is feeling like the 2016/2017 B330 RXS.

Just bought a couple boxes of the Tour B X to do some testing.

From what everyone is saying about getting more distance with the TBXS over the B330S

I am not seeing that gain, I seam to be getting less yards.

I once had a grizzled old golfer tell me that if you're playing bogey golf or worse, play whatever ball you find.

My brother shot his lowest score ever, 83, using Nitro balls (orange!) that he picked up for $4.99/dozen at KMart.

Previous week it was a 97 with Pro V's that he got as a gift.

I think the old range rat knew what he was talking about

I played 6 holes today hitting three balls off the tee, from the fairway (full and 1/2 shots), chipping, and putting: OnCore Elixr, 2018 Chrome Soft X, and my gamer, TP5X.

Overall, today, there really wasn't much difference between the CSX and TP5X as far as spin, length, and height. The CSX was easily the hardest off of every club, with every type of shot. The Elixr was the softest in each type of shot, and launched the highest, but didn't balloon. I really didn't see much in the distance differences because my driver was an issue today, again. The Elixr always seemed to be a yard or two longer on full shots with my irons and wedges, when comparing ball marks left behind on the greens.

Overall, I'm a big fan of the Elixr, although it had a “heavy” feel on chips vs the other two, which could be the sense of it being softer. The CSX was not my favorite... Just too hard. I'm stuck with it, though, as I bought four dozen personalized. Oh well. No real biggie!

I'll keep putting these against each other, especially when it's dryer and warmer. I'm curious if one ends-up longer off the driver.

Did you happen to notice how much spin the Elixirs had on the greens? I'm curious as to if they compete with the TP5 and CS when it comes to that area.

Looking forward to hearing more of your thoughts about them.

I didn't notice any difference amongst the three when chipping, pitching, or with 1/2-3/4 shots from 90 yards with regard to spin. None.

I always try to play a ProV1, what a grew up with, what I'm used to.

That being said, I don't mind the Amazon deals on the Z-Star or the '16 Tour Preferred. Basically any soft tour ball I'm happy.

The TBXS is legit the best ball I've played in the last 12 months since I started playing again. I still have a couple more on my list to try but so far it checks all the boxes for me.

Gonna put the '17 CSX up against it tomorrow. I haven't swung a club since I left for Japan on the 27th so it might not be the best test lol. I'm a little concerned since pmooks said it felt super hard, I prefer a soft feel and the only thing I didn't like about the TP5X was the clicky putter sound

For a not too expensive ball , I use the Bridgestone E6 speed. It's probably in my head, but I really have a "comfort " zone feeling with them. That's all that counts for me.

Have played B330S for the past 6 years.  Now play Tour BXS.  I like the feel but the BXS is softer than before.

I played 9 holes with the Snell Black and thought it was a really good ball.  I will through in a ProV1x every once in a while as well.  But go to is the Tour BXS.
