Back in the day, I had a 16 degree Halo.  I remember hitting it off the tee of a 440 yard par 4 with a slight down-slope that started at about 250 from the tee.   I got to the ball and I was 140 out....LOL

 

Of course you always remember the once in a lifetime shot with a club.   But seriously at the time, I had the swing speed to play that low loft of hybrid, and was pretty consistent to about 240 with it.

Saw pics of these from the range last week.  MotorCityKitty just ordered a set.  We're playing in Dallas today, but he doesn't have them yet.  Can't wait to see them in person!

Of course you always remember the once in a lifetime shot with a club. But seriously at the time, I had the swing speed to play that low loft of hybrid, and was pretty consistent to about 240 with it.

I hear you. Hoping to get 240+ out of the "1" iron. They way I can go all irons. I hit my 19° 3 iron last weekend 260 with roll out about as straight as a golf ball could fly. Give me a 19° fairway wood and I'll be all over the place.

 

Just need to find the right shaft to optimize the launch conditions.

So ironically I played this same course todsy and the tee we played was one up so it was "only" playing 430 yards. I hit driver decently and was 230 out.

 

Man. How things change. Can someone tell me where I can find those 90 yards. Lol!!

Just got fitted for the new mp18 with a make up set of mp18 Pw-9, mp18sc 8-6, mp18 fli hi 5-4 with project x Lz 5.5 shafts and golf pride new decade mid size grips.

Absolutely pumped and still can't believe that I bought them as I'm a titleist guy through and through, but these clubs are............. well simply amazing in looks, feels and surprisingly forgiveness.

Mizuno mp18 - yes please!

I'm actually being swayed slightly towards some American Muscle. They are all in good standing with me.

 

1. Cobra

2. Wilson

3. Titleist

 

In that order, but I have several months of wait time to decide.

I love titleist, but they just don't have anything on the mp18 range.

 

I went for a fitting session for the 718 ap2 and cb, was going to do a combo thing, when the fitter threw a club my way and said "have a hit of this".

 

It was a mp18sc 6 iron and couldn't believe the feel. I was sold.

 

It's the second time this year that another manufacturer has swayed me.

Demod the mp18s mb and the sc and might do a combo set, but I want px7.0s and Mizuno only has 6.5s and the extra cost to have other shafts installed is annoying!

Had a quick hit of the MB, felt remarkably good. Very interested in having a hit of the SC. If I can get permission, it could be a toss up between the 900 tour and the MP18SC. Permission is the hard part.

Have you tried to hard step the 6.5s? Mizuno will do that at no upcharge.

I saw and held each model of the MP18 line in my hand last week in the PGA Superstore in ATL.   And quickly determined that even the most forgiving the FLi-Hi is probably more club than I need to be playing...ha

Just received mine today. Mp18 pw-9, mp18sc 8-6, mp18 flihi 5-4 all with project x lz 5.5 shafts. Absolutely beautiful in every way. The softest club I've ever hit, the flight is sensational but the feel is just amazing.
