Grip Changes!? And Upcoming Open predictions.....

Hey All,

So I need to replace my grips soon on all 13 clubs. I have GP Tour Velvets now. I am a mid-sized grip size. But I've had troubles with sweaty hands and slightly losing my grip during the swing. Any tips on new good grips for sweaty hands / losing your grip?

Any suggestions would help!

p.s. I've got Speith, Phil, DJ, Kuchar, and Stenson as my top 5 (not necessarily in that order) for The Open! Who do you have for The Open this year?

Thanks again,

Dave

I personally like grips with cord like the GP Tour Velvet Cord grip (much better than the regular tour velvet for sweaty hands) or the GP Z-Grips. I live in SC with approximately 200% humidity every day so my hands get really sweaty but both grips I listed above perform well for me.

I'm a midsize grip myself.  I currently have the Lamkin Z5 grips on my Srixons.  But have GP MCC coming on the Mizuno's.   The Z5 have been pretty good, on all but the most humid days, I've still be able to play without a glove.   Will see on the MCC how they go.

As for the Open, I honestly have NO Idea!1  But my two picks are in order   Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose.  I think DJ will overpower the course with the lack of weather they are getting.  Rose obviously has great memories there and is playing very well this year.

I love the Golf Pride MCC grips, we get lots of humidity in Southeast Texas and they hold up very well.

With the Open I am sticking with Rickie Fowler, I think it's his turn

I love the MCC midsize Black and white, a little pricey but they're worth it in my opinion.

I got Spieth, DJ, Sergio, Fowler and Phil the Thrill.
