Yep.... Cargo shorts are ruining the game! Pair them with a nice, clean t-shirt and it would be damn near impossible to score well, let alone be on the same golf course with such a cretin.

Oddly enough here cargo shorts are acceptable and so are jeans. Gym shorts/bathing suits (seriously ) not allowed.

Shirts must be collared, mock turtleneck in cold months allowed and the new Nike type shirt no problem.

I honestly see jeans more than golf slacks when the weather gets colder. Being on a navy base, they don't enforce the golf dress code as much

Maybe I'm a little behind the know but when did collarless shirts make an appearance?

I kind of like them myself, but not the price I'm seeing on them.

Nike seems to be the leader in this trend.

What are yalls thoughts?

I like collars myself but take this into account, I'm in central Texas in the middle of summer where it can get to the triple digits relatively easy, if you don't have that collar you're neck is gonna get cooked.

The Nike "semi collars" will go the way of mock turtleneck, on hangers at Goodwill. Fashions come and go. Nikes downfall is price. Pro Shops around here don't stick them because "old farts" aren't going to pay $90 for a fashion statement.

The biggest golf shirt seller here IS Goodwill!!

As long as Day and Rory continue to be among the top players in the world, they will continue to attract younger players, who will want to wear the same clothes. Rory is a pretty traditional guy, he admitted it in his interview with Shiels, but even he sees the benefit of attracting younger players to the game. Slowly, it's becoming less of an "old fart" sport, but until these overly-conservative rule makers and club officials remove those large objects out of their butts, the game is going to remain less popular than other sports. There are other factors involved in its unpopularity (mainly cost) but they're not doing themselves any favors being upset over an inch of fabric around your neck.

Yup, your right about young guys and especially costs. My son in laws both are players and are dying to play. But they can't with 2 kids each and al of them looking at some college getting to play is not going to happen often.

Getting back to the shirts who cares as long as there neat. If the Nike shirts were a bit more reasonable I'd pick up a couple of them.

But I'm cheap.

The "wife" is a "professional" shopper and I mean that in the best way. Yesterday we were out running errands and down the road from a Goodwill store. I have no problem with that I've picked up decent yard tools and other stuff I may use in the next 20 years.

Anyway on the men's rack were 2 brand new Nike collarless shirts. Great looking shirts, well made, brand new and $9.98 each! I tried them on, they fit good but man did I look stupid. They are made for 30 yr olds not 70.

Left them there for someone who would look good in them.

I'm buying 10 of these when they go on sale. They have to give you an extra 50 yards plus.

With them being so much like tee shirts, I can't wait for Kiss to be a Sponser.

A "Gene Simmons" Nike shirt, sure that'll be worn by Rory

Personally these shirts have no place in golf. It's a fad just like the mock necks David Duval wore in the 90's

The collar-less or "blade" is where its at!  Nike charges way too much but Uniqlo has some nice ones, I think Adam Scott was wearing them recently. I got mine on sale for $9.90, its got a dri-fit material and they are great.

The stuff from the 90-00's were totally different, those were mock turtle necks.  I was never a fan of that, the new shirts have buttons and have a "smaller" collar.
