Kor.A.Door
Whatever it is you can be sure it's a candidate for Blane if he doesn't win. Clubs, fiancées, caddies, balls, are we sensing a pattern? In his defense people have laid ridiculous expectations on him. He needs to put his ear plugs in and be patient. Let his talent do the talking. How about that golf course? I see so much Tom Fazio in the make over. Great course! Good shots rewarded, bad shots make you work. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy This course is spectacular, one day I may get an opportunity to play there. They have the greens running at impossible speeds right now. If you off with your speed just a little bit, it makes you pay, if you get above the hole and have down hill putts all day, you cannot even attempt to make them, this course punishes any poor shot. It's good to see them struggle. By the way, he course I play every week is set up similar to this, thick Bermuda rough, hard fast greens, the difference is that we do keep the geeens playable, run at around 10, versus Quail, which look to be around 12-13. I have played greens that fast, and they ain't no joke. It's all about speed and grain with these things. You can see already that some of them are fooled by the grain. It looks to break to the left, but the grain is to the right so the ball goes straight, and will likely go right as it slows down. I love watching them strugggle on the greens, makes me feel pretty good that I'm not the only one who reads the green incorrectly. robert horneman
I am NOT pulling for Spieth because he elected not to play in Arnold's invitational. Of all the tournaments he should have played that was the one he should have played. What Arnold did for these spoiled whippersnappers. The year Arnold died should have been a no brainer. I hope they do not invite him or the others who did not play.

revkev
It's nice hearing the announcers talk about how hard and fast the greens are, and how the Bermuda rough is really tough. How driving the ball in the fairway is imperative. Well, these are the conditions that I play every week. Hard, fast greens, and tough Bermuda rough, if you've never had the pleasure of being in deep Bermuda rough, you should feel lucky, but hopefully it's not sitting up just a bit, because then you get the flyer where you hit your 7 iron 230 yards in the air. Some of these guys are very good at judging those lies, but if you guess wrong you get the heavy fat shot where your 7 iron only goes 100 yards. Look for these kind of shots as you watch this week.As I was reading 7 iron 230, I was thinking or 100. I'm pretty good at reading lies in Bermuda but you still have to commit and hit the shot. I'm truly enjoying what I've seen also. Same architect, same grasses, similar conditions, it's fun. The course is rewarding solid shots and making it difficult on those who hit marginal ones.
