Ok I admit I was trolling mostly at first, but that photo is pretty damning. Being serious, it's gotta raise a few more eyebrows.

Well it just shows he's not a good cheater.  Everyone knows you lay it down with handle pointing at target, much easier to focus on your alignment aid that way  :D

If I remember it correctly, Micheal Greller was on top of the dune lining Jordan up and the 3 wood had already been dropped onto the ground. If he was using it as an alignment aid, you'd think he would have waited to lay it down until AFTER they had their direction figured out..

Just saying..

Or it means that he's reached a new level of cheating. He also put the club juuuust far enough away that people wouldn't notice. Not to mention put it with the club head facing forward to additionally throw people off. Cheater level: expert

FYI... Jordan layed down the club when Greller was on the top of the hill. After he had already tried to move himself directly between the hole and the Spieth. Thanks for helping my argument though  :)

1: it wasn't marked OB, so it's not OB

2: it wasn't Spieth taking long to take his shot, it was Spieth waiting for the R&A officials to make a correct ruling on his initial drop area and line of site issues

Jodran wasn't the one dragging his feet, it was the R&A making sure they made correct rulings in the moment so that they weren't criticized after the event for making an incorrect ruling

Ditto

There's no discussion necessary really. The rules were followed to a tee.

Ha! That guy is probably like "Score! TP5. Man people lose all kinds of quality balls on this course!"

Like, who else's ball could that have possibly been?

The reason it took so long is because the 2 big trailers that were there, of those weren't there it would have taken just a couple minutes, it took so long because his drop put him right behind, or right in between the trailers, then he had to take relief from there. It was a process that should have been done faster, but because you have to follow all the rules for the drop, it took longer than it needed. I do agree that somewhere around that area it should have been marked with white stakes. It wasn't marked, he took imhis drop according to the rules. They can't assess a penalty when the rules official is working with the player to make the proper drop in the proper place. He clearly apologized to Kuch, and Kuch seemed fine with it. It also didn't seem to Bother Kuch, he made his par, then another coming in. 5 under the last 5 holes is difficult to beat for anyone.

Jordan Spieth talked about the tee shot on #13 at the Open at today's WGC Bridgestone press conference.  He said that he was playing a cut with the thought that for him the fairway was the right rough on that hole and water got between the ball and the driver, plus the face was really open.  He hit a spectator and then the ball went over the hill.

Quote of the day from Spieth...  "It wasn't that bad of a shot.  I've hit lots worse shots than that."

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

That's pretty funny! But I have to disagree with him. Any shot that take 40 min. to find and play is a bad shot in my book!
