Good afternoon, spies.  Stumbled upon this site while researching new golf balls (which led to me picking up a dozen Snell MTB's) and I'm excited to browse around.

 

I'm just outside Indianapolis and commute past the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to work every day, which is kind of cool.  I picked up golf about 8 years ago after I quit auto racing and, being a lifeling baseball player before that, have fought a slice ever since. 

 

After not playing much the past 5 years due to babies, my now 8 year old son has taken a keen interest in the game (finished runner-up in the city tourney earlier this week) so he and I have been playing 9 quite a bit together.  Magically my slice has disappeared.  Not sure if that's because I'm 5 years further away from my glory days of playing baseball but, whatever the reason, I'm pretty excited about it!

 

I'm working now to become a bogey golfer (currently a 20 handicap) by improving my short game.  I drive decent enough and my iron striking is pretty decent.  I'm just horrible on and around the greens.

Welcome, glad you found the forums. Good luck with the new Snells!

I noticed you have quite the Cleveland bag except for your putter. There is currently a forum member review going for the Cleveland Huntington Beach putter line...not saying you need a new putter but then again, maybe you do :)

Welcome from the Pacific Northwest! Glad you joined us Chappy.  I gave up auto racing in 1979, but kept playing softball until 1992 when ai took up golf.  Yes, I fought a slice for many years but lessons fixed that.  It was either lessons or give up golf, and I liked to play so...

Awesome!  Yep, I pass that course on the way to and from work every day.  That hole you posted is a rough one; miss that green and you could easily go double bogey without blinking.

Chappy, the TItleist is the only part that is a decal. The rest is painted on. It sure catches some eyes though.
