Do you ground your club or hover it?

Does it help your game to ground your club or hover it before hitting a shot or drive? Curious to know your take on this.

I hover the driver and ground all of the others, including the putter.  I have been thinking of hovering the putter and seeing how it works out.

Only hover for sand shots and the occasional shot out of a hazard area, otherwise I ground it. No real reason except it's what I've always done.

I ground my clubs as well.   Tried hovering, but never really saw a difference.

I ground. I lose control when I hover (even more than usual) and it makes me unreasonably uncomfortable to watch Kuchar hit for this same reason

All my swings start on the deck. Then the driver takes off like a F-16 from an aircraft carrier. And sometimes my 3 wood, but I usually have it on a short tee and at most hit it level.

I find I can't hold it still enough to feel confident over the ball so I ground. But I try to pick it up then go back so the hands aren't behind the club head on the backswing

I ground the irons & wedges; I've hovered the driver on occasion, and had good results, but usually ground that as well. Helps me relieve any tension & swing.

I have tinkered with hovering my driver, but I always go back to grounding it. Not that hovering it wasn't successful, it's just a little more comfortable when it's being grounded.

I tried it a few times and it actually helped me swing through instead hit at the ball. It just feels awkward so I haven't stuck with it.

Only ground the putter, not sure why I started doing this but if I do ground the club I back away and start over. Last time I grounded an iron was in a tournament, second shot on a par 5, had 4 iron into the green over water. Nerves got to me and for some reason I grounded the club, ended up chunking it in the water. Felt like it locked me up and I feel hovering the club keeps me looser.

Use to hover tee shots & putter but now mostly putter. If I do ground it very lightly.

Ground em all.  I tried to hover my driver several years ago, but results were inconsistent at best.

I almost always ground everything but my putter, I hover my putter and wedges for some reason.  If I really start to have issues off the tee I will Hover my driver and for some reason this will help, but if I start the round hovering off the tee I'll never recover.

I ground my clubs.  I feel like I need to start my swing with a slight forward press as a trigger; more so with the putter.  However, this is probably why I am a lousy bunker player, especially fairway bunkers.

Hover the driver, everything else is grounded (other than in hazards!). I seem to have better rhythm with the driver when I hover, and the opposite with everything else.

Hover the driver and ground the rest. Have been experimenting with hovering the putter with good results.

Ditto for me,driver is hover, the rest grounded.  I too am thinking of trying to hover the putter.

Generally I ground all of my full shots and hover chips and ground for pitches. I ground for putter.

 

However I will change that up as a way of resetting my swing at times.

I always hover the driver ... it's my swing key & trigger for my takeaway.  Creates less tension in the forearms & grip.  If it's good enough for Jack, it's good enough for me.

I used to have Lee Jansen's routine. He grounds it and 2 seconds before he takes away he hover for a second and sets down and immediately starts his swing. It's been awesome for me. It's kind of a hybrid between hover and ground.

 

Then I got a swingbyte and found out that less than 50% of my shots were registered. It turns out that the unit requires a stop at address about 1 second to trigger the recording to start. So I changed mine to look at the target look at the ball and swing. Works just as well.
