Arnie was known to wear pants at Bay Hill all summer long no matter what so I think he would still wear pants. Shanks you're a big fan of the euro tour they started this and the PGA is just following suit. I like the summer pants I have better than shorts but sometimes black sucks. Davis love showed when caddying for Dru that these guys don't have legs.

I'm all for shorts and letting the players choose between that and pants. As long as they're still dressing well, I don't see a problem with it. Adds a little more flair and personality to the game.

Easy! I just don't like change. We already have solid core golf balls, 460cc drivers, and face slots. What else do they need? Shorts and tee shirts... next it will be flip flops, and golf boards. (Disclaimer: I would ride a golf board no question.)

 

I could think of 100 different ways to add some "flair", shorts and pale white legs ain't it.

Arnie would say "does it hurt the game? No. Does it help grow the game?  Potentially - so let's go with it"

 

Arnie was one of the most progressive thinkers of his generation.  The game would not be where it is if it wasn't for his forward thinking.

"What would Arnie do" does not apply here.

 

Actually, it does.  And Arnie would want to get rid of dumb policies and do what it takes, within reason. to grow the game.

I'm getting tired of the extreme hacks, jerks, party animals, non ball Mark repair-ers, range finding each 30 yard shot... it's getting old. I'm almost ready for the season to end.

And I agree with everything there.  And wearing shorts does not mean less professional at all.  I get that you don't like change, but Arnie was the single biggest catalyst for change throughout the history of golf.

Shanks - I love you, but you gotta stop speaking in such absolutes.  Would I wear shorts to my office job? No.  But do I think professional golfers shouldn't be able to wear shorts?  Absolutely not.  Should the LPGA tour outlaw skirts above the knee?
