Yesterday morning, my wife woke up and put her coffee in the microwave. She goes to get it out and it's still running with the door open. It actually felt like she slightly burnt her hand, so we had to go get a new one this evening. Along with the new microwave, we bought an Instant Pot! I know I've been talking about wanting one for a while here, so we finally made the leap. The best part? We got the 11 in 1 with the air fryer at the same price as the 7 in 1! It was $79.99 at Wal-Mart and I was giddy. 

Ahh, adulthood and the things that make you happy.

My wife got one last year, they’re pretty sweet in busy days when we didn’t have time to prep something or crock pot it. Super easy cleanup to.

I didn't want to smoke the house up so I put the cast iron on the grill. Didn't get quite hot enough unfortunately, so I'm missing that great crust, but the meat is cooked perfectly, just under medium. Hawaiian salt, pepper to season, then unsalted butter + garlic + thyme in the pan for the "sear" that didn't happen. Next time I'm also not letting my MIL pick the steaks up, she bought thin cut lol.

Pan seared burgers again, this time I cooked them on top of as thin as I could slice onion so a nice carmalized onion on the bottom. Cooked pierogies in the oven on a cookie sheet which makes them crisp like being fried without any oil

My wife and I often make big batches of stuff.  We've learned what the right portion sizes are, and we freeze in Ziplock bags.  Freeze them flat, and once frozen they can stand on end in the freezer just like books on a shelf, its a lot more space efficient than tupperware.  Soup, red gravy, duck and mushroom gumbo, Guinness beef stew, all in "serving for two" size packages.

My wife and I do the same thing (learned it from my mom years ago).  Packaged up marinara sauce from the last batch of tomatoes from our garden.  We also buy the huge package of hamburger from Costco and portion it out in quart size ziplock freezer bags, get all the air squishing them flat for freezing.  Thaws quickly for cooking.

Same!! I love cooking once and either freezing, or just throwing the leftovers in the reefer to eat for dinner the rest of the week.

My wife made a turkey breast in the Instant Pot tonight. It was our first meal cooked in it since purchasing it a little over a week ago. It was phenomenal! I have no idea what she seasoned it with, I just know it was good. She paired it with some broccoli and rolls with honey butter. 

I ate too much.

that was for me only. I ate less than 1 the rest are cooked for salads or wraps.
