Also not doing any meat, I like my shrimp gumbos but hopefully this will scratch my itch for gumbo Commend you for doing the vegan thing, that's a tough transition especially when you're cooking for yourself. Isn’t easy and I’m still letting myself eat a pizza or whatever we choose once a week. For the most part hasn’t been to bad and it’s really forced me to eat healthier and cut down on how much I ate....really was the only way for me I think. Also a salad night here, but I didn't take a picture; maybe next time if I remember. I fix it; my wife stays away from any sharp objects. History there! Veggie mix, mushrooms, pea pods, 1/2 apple chunked, white sharp cheddar cheese chunks, London Broil beef chunked, chopped walnuts, cranberry raisins, croutons with blue cheese dressing. It all goes in a big bamboo bowl, tossed, and my wife and I sat on the couch watching the Sony Open in Hawaii eating out of the bowl. One bowl, 2 forks, one knife and cutting board to wash... my kinda meal. edingc, GolfSpy_SHARK, MattF and 1 other 4 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

So true!To me a "joint" or "spot" is always more than a restaurant. When a food establishment earns the title "joint" it represents the following: it has a special place in my heart, I've frequented it multiple times and told others about it, it's packed with culture and atmosphere and is where we go when we want THAT kind of food.
