We just remodeled the kitchen, then my wife had a full extraction surgery for dentures and can’t eat solids for about 8 weeks. So I will not be cooking anything ......

In honor of the Kentucky Derby, dinner last night was Horseradish crusted pork tenderloin with a side of Horseradish cauliflower mash.

Working overtime on the rescue tonight and got a text asking if I was cooking. Said I was doing pizza before I came in so told them I was pushing it off until I got there. Apparently my cooking prowess has gone beyond my platoon to other platoons.

Going back to one of my Mom’s classics. Yankee food, easy. Pork chops baked in cream of mushroom soup and onions. Nothing special, very simple, but I loved this as a kid.

Six months into my career and I burnt angel hair for pasta night…the night we had three companies get together from the battalion…

 

I had boxes of pasta in my boots, my locker, pictures of angels, they even called me guardian. There’s no love like the love at the firehouse. 
 

All because I got distracted and forgot about the pasta

Hey y'all! It's been a good minute since I've visited this thread. "Insert many sad emojis". 

Anybody ever mess with one of these? Wondering if it would be enough to cover both the propane grill and the smoker..? 

Looks like cooking time might be longer but quality may be better overall. Eventually I'm going to need to eliminate some equipment when we move out to PG, CA so I'm thinking this might be a decent grill/smoker in-one option. 

This is a big box model from Lowe's. It's the Pit Boss 1150 pellet grill.

Made ribs last shift at work.  This was the first time I tried a new recipe and it ended up being my favorite I've made.  Run them lightly with yellow mustard after removing silver skin.  Then its sugar, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and chili powder.  Cover in a pan with two cans of coke for 3 hours at 275.

Finish on the grill with some sweet baby.  Yum.

I’ve got a Traeger, pellet grills are amazing! The convenience of propane because you can turn then on and get to temperature quickly and then maintain temperature while cooking and then just turn it off when your done...BUT you get the flavor of cooking with wood and smoke.

I’ll never go back to grilling the other way. With the Traeger I can grill steaks or burgers or smoke a brisket low and slow to perfection, you can even bake in them.
