Grilled pork with Haluski at the firehouse...flavor was great but calls got in the way...had 40 minutes total to make and eat it.  I felt like I was on an episode of Chopped

EXACTLY!!  Whenever we get pizza I also get the salad that way I’m still eating healthy!!!!!

I’m already at least 12-14 deep on Octoberfest. It’s my favorite seasonal beer of them all. If it’s out, I’m drinking it!

Picked up a 12 as well while at Wegmans yesterday.  Octoberfest #1, Winter Lager #2.  The rest of the bunch, #3.

Entertaining last night and broke out all the bells & whistles. Dry brined a Tri Tip roast added a cumin & coriander rub and reverse seared on the grill. Dessert was a French pastry called a Mille Feuille (Thousand Leaves).

Not food but with the new house we got rid of our target special cutting knives we had for years….decided to get myself something real nice. I really enjoy cooking and this is a life time knife that’s for sure:

What are you leaning towards? Naniwa? Shapton? Japanese naturals?

I am looking into getting stones also but for my straight razors, not kitchen knifes.

it’s great, has a fantastic weight to it. Soon as I took it out felt great. Will be using it tomorrow prepping a mushroom sauce. Should be butter smooth

I’m a big made in USA guy. I like wet stones they are easy to use as long as you use them right

It goes up to 8k grit but you should be able to get a pretty good edge for cooking off the 4k side of the stone. 

I will emphasize getting your technique down (maybe using another knife to practice on) and maybe looking into an edge guide to make sure you have the correct angle.

Looks like a lot of good options there, in my link above they are for a set of Norton's. Larry cuts them into quarters to have a nice discount kit and the smaller size still works well, I think the full size set is in your link also. I believe nortons are Made in USA but I am not 100% sure
