My son was getting headaches daily and we cut out most sugar and that has really helped him so since we are changing things for him already we have rolled into some of the foods my wife and I eat. Getting easier, but going slowly on the uptake, unsurprisingly for a 5 year old. Yeah I've noticed that stew meat isn't really a "budget-friendly" option these days. My local WinCo constantly has Tri tip and Brasilian Sirloin tip (Picanha) running for less than $6/lb.. and often has sales in the $3 range. But chuck and other roast cuts are like $7++. Tri tip and picanha are 10 times better cuts.. so WTF?!
