Seems like I'm getting better at eliminating one side of the fairway with the Cobra King F7+ and this is really good news.

Just keep grinding to find the sweet spot.

Just curious as to what kind of ball flight y'all play? Do you normally play a draw? A fade? Or can you hit whichever you please?

I'm a higher handicap player, so consistency has always been an issue for me. I'll hit a few fades, then a few draws, a few slices and a few hooks. In fact I told a buddy earlier this year that I wish I could get it down to 1 miss...that way I could aim left or right and try to keep the ball in play.

 

With the F7+ I am seeing a straight ball or a slight draw which I credit with some of the distance that I've gained with the F7+

1st it was y'all with Harvey. Now I guess it's South Florida's turn with Irma! Everyone say a prayer please!

 

Thanks to the hurricane prep, I only got 1 round in! As most of you see from my drives detected, I play a TON. So 1 round is an all-time low for me! Haha!

 

In my post yesterday I mentioned the weights and dialing those in a little. This go round, as I post my stats, I'll give 1 suggestion I'd like to see Arccos/Cobra CONNECT factor in. WIND.

 

Obviously, they take out the outliers but what if we got to tell Arccos whether or not the wind effected our drive?

 

For example, 2 great drives yesterday but 2 very different results!

 

You can tell which was downwind and which was in the fan.

Lol I wish. That one was an error when I took my phone out of my pocket and it picked up my 3rd shot. Tried deleting the shot but hasn't worked yet.

Not sure about others but I have begun to really use the gps on the app. Pretty handy at times.

My biggest issue is still the battery drain.

It still eats up about 70% of my battery.

I normally play a draw but prefer a fade. When the fade works, I have my best driving rounds 100%. My swing path has been creeping further and further tithe right so it's been struggle to get the fade to work without blocking it right.

 

I think the F7+ gives you the ability to work the ball with the weights in the front or back. I think I'm going to play around with a heavier weight in the heel and just see how it affects the flight and workability!

Yeah I've noticed that the android app is a huge battery drain... The iPhone one not as much. All around the iPhone app is superior at this point.

OK week 3 already!!!! Time is flying about as long as this F7+ can hit the ball.

 

Stat wise it doesn't look like much has changed since week 2.

I did hit more Fairways this week and since we played this small muni course I picked up 2 "King of the Holes"!! #TEAMRICKIE

First hole. Up the hill and for the first time ever, drove past the green.


Hole #3... King of the Hole!


Hole #5 King of the Hole!


Hole #8... almost drove the green here... I feel the king of the hole is BS on this one but was pretty close. According to the GPS the KotH is on the green.. w/e.


Here are my player stats for week 3.

I was only able to get 9 holes in. With my 1st grader starting school and granny in the hospital it's been a crazy week. Nothing like our brothers dealing with the hurricanes of course.

..I'm confident with my driver now and I have no problem using it on a narrow hole.

 

 

 

.... a little anecdote about being confident with the driver.

 

Our foursome was playing a match (I think it was a 5.00 nassau or something - I forget) but the guy that invited me was my partner against 2 other members of the course.

 

We won the first 9 and were all square on the last hole of the second 9.

 

Reasonable (400+) par 4.

 

My partner hooked his tee shot left - good shot but pulled it left into the rough.

 

It was my turn.... the safe play would have been 3wood/hybrid - make sure to get it on the fairway to give yourself a chance at par.

 

Screw that - I know I can get it in the short stuff with the big dog.... off comes the headcover and the #SilverSlugger was ready to rock.  That gleam coming off of the head was unmistakable, everyone knew what I was about to do...

 

Piped one 259 down the middle.

not sure why Arccos shows it being to the right...it was actually about 5-10 yards left of that....

 

Now that is some confidence..

 

Get yourself some confidence.....get the F7 today.

But special shout out to TBT....Going above and beyond to find courses to continue the competition on.  Nobobdy would have blamed Tim at all if he just packed it in and worried about the recovery at home and Houston.  But he kept at it not letting his team down, and posted some incredible numbers on away courses......Way to go TBT!!

 

Also Bryan...stay safe down there.  You're in all our thoughts.    Great numbers as well.

 

I continue to be impressed by all these guys stats, not a bad driver of the ball in the bunch.

 

I've got one of the original Arccos Driver devices sitting on my desk, that a friend gave me some time last year.  I've never actually gone out with it, but this competition has me interested in putting it on my driver and seeing how it goes.

But special shout out to TBT....Going above and beyond to find courses to continue the competition on.  Nobobdy would have blamed Tim at all if he just packed it in and worried about the recovery at home and Houston.  But he kept at it not letting his team down, and posted some incredible numbers on away courses......Way to go TBT!!

Ha!  If you're not using it I'll take it.  Love the app and the ease of just leaving your phone in your pocket MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than the GameGolf tagging thing.

It will certainly make things like leagues and club tournaments more interesting.

Things like closest-to-the-pin and long drive will soon be determined electronically rather than someone using a tape measure and guesstimating...

 

As far as leagues go, I've heard of leagues where everyone doesn't necessarily play at the same time - you just need to get a round in for the week and turn it in.  I can see in the future how you can see how everyone else has done so far via an app and then just submit your score electronically once your done.

 

I think this stuff is just a couple years away...

Can you follow individual shots or just scores? Individual shot tracking would be pretty sweet automated. The manual inputs don't do it for me.

Thanks for the shout out buddy! I do appreciate it, I can honestly say that if I hadn't made a commitment to MGS, Cobra and my teammates I more than likely wouldn't have made such an effort to find courses and get out and play this past week.

 

But, I'm glad I did!!! This driver makes the game so much more fun for me and getting out in the course for a few hours gave me some much needed stress relief!

 

I can't wait for my course to reopen and my MGA events to be rescheduled because I can see wins headed my way!

I agree...I really like that feature too.

 

I'm actually surprised that Cobra hasn't added the Arccos Technology into the grips of the rest of their clubs as an option.

 

I had been curious about Arccos before and after using the Cobra Connect feature I added Arccos 360 to my wish list for my birthday and Christmas.

 

But as cool as Arccos is, it's much cooler when it's already built into the grip!!!

 

I think Arccos needs to make a deal with a Golf Pride or Lamkin or another grip company and offer the sensors built into a set of grips as an option.
