Thinking about getting a box of one of these. Does anyone with high swing speeds have a strong opinion one way or the other?

I have some plain Z stars. Would that just be a year or two older? Love the feel.

I'm just looking to expand into something new and try another new ball. Would've tried the Vice balls but the durability issues worry me.

Both zstar and xv are current models. They are similar to the pro v1 and prov1x respectively

As for the original question. I've played both the B330 and Snell. Both are great balls. B330 is firmer. Both offer low spin offer the driver and high spin around the greens.

I preferred the Snell to the B330. I found the B330S more similar to the Snell

It's been a while since I played the MTB but I remember it being a great ball for the price. Played a little soft but didn't see any distance lost. Played the b330 more recently. A little firmer, which I like. Both balls offer great distance and the short game with wedges were both exceptional. Try the snell just for the price alone

I used to play the B330s for spin control and play in the wind during the dry summer conditions. However the B330S was causing me to lose distance off the tee so I switched to the B330. Unless you're playing on really firm conditions, the B330 will get you what you need. I know you can find Bridgestone balls for dirt cheap online...similar to the Snell price point if you buy in bulk.

If price isn't your issue, the TP5X is a monster off the tee/in the wind. Last club fitting showed over a 300 rpm drop in spin off the tee compared to the B330s.

In my search, the B330 is actually cheaper by about $4

Still might try the Snell though because I prefer a softer feel.

If you like a little softer feel you can should pit the B330S (blue box) against the Snell.

I considered that but I remember reading somewhere those aren't really for high swing speeds.

I have a driver swing speed, when in correct tempo, of 110-112mph and I play the B330S.  I would be more concerned with feel than anything else...Losing distance off the tee would be VERY marginal if any.  Also how accurately you hit the middle of club face plays into the distance game as well.

I would have been 110 at my fastest and found the B330s to be a great ball. Long and it spun well around the green. I think the swing speed thing is a gimmick to try and make them a "premium" tour ball.

Yes.

And the B330S is for high swing speeds. It's played by several guys on tour.

You are thinking of the b330rx, which is advertised for under 105mph swings

Yeah. I got my B330S dozen last week and went to the course today with every intention of putting them into play but the Penta I started with lasted a while. Then I found a TP5x while I searched for that when I lost it so it was the easy drop. Then that ball lasted the rest of the round.

I've gotten to putt with them though for what that's worth. This was really the first positive experience I've had with a TM ball so that's promising.

Played the B330S the past 2 days. I lost the first two due to unfamiliarity with the courses but played really well with #3 lasting for the final 16 holes today. Off the big clubs, it wasn't as soft feeling as I hoped but the flight was controlled. The metal clubs felt like butter.

Here's a shot of a pitching wedge I threw at a green today. I'm not even mad at the pull back, I'm actually quite impressed.

I usually play the Vice Pro+, but the Bridgestone B330 is my back-up ball.  My driver swing speed is ~112 MPH, and both feel great off the driver, iron and wedge shots, and off the putter.  I usually buy balls in bulk, so keep your eyes on Golf Galaxy for a 3-for-2 deal.

That said, thinking about trying out the TP5/TP5x.
