Peaksy68
I don't think Koepka wants to sign unless Mizuno offers him a more than his Nike equipment contract is paying him. So long as Koepka doesn't sign with anyone else, Nike has to pay out the remainder of his contract. The moment he signs with someone else the Nike equipment contract voids It's great for both sides. Koepka doesn't have to be tied to anyone, still gets paid, and Mizuno can still say their irons are so good the dual US Open champ plays them because they work. I didn't realise he was still being paid by Nike, makes a lot more sense now. 849 Pro Evenflow Riptide 6.0 F8 3 & 5 Woods Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 TS2 7 Wood Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 MP18 MMC - Project X LZ 5.5 Zipcore Wedges 50,54,58 - Project X LZ 5.5 MLA Tour Mallet 33" Z Star Pioneer bag buggy

What is the usual time frame for Stage 3 on an iron review? There aren't any any official stage 3 reviews any more. I like to stop in and post updates occasionally. For me, the 900 Tours are firmly in the bag to the point where I don't even bat an eye at other iron releases. A combo set of MP18 SC and MB intrigues me, but beyond that I've never been considered changing irons

don2
Here is what I have to add. I went for a “Club Champion†full bag fitting with the high hopes of the JPX 900 irons being “the onesâ€. Sure enough, they were the best, in terms of FEEL, looks, distance and dispersion. I am about 1 1/2 to 2 clubs longer and even more importantly to me, the turf interaction is fantastic. I too do not pay any attention to new club releases because I could not be happier with what is in my bag. Oh, I'm bombing drives with my new Cobra F8 Plus/Raijen Shaft too. Shot my lowest round in quite a few years last weekend. Love this forum too, you guys are great with responses and feedback. don2
Great to have you aboard, Don! What JPX model did you end up with?I ended up with the Forged. I know the lofts are jacked but I can use the extra distance, plus I am hitting them high enough for the descent angle to hold greens. Marine02
I wish I could get these in lefty. I've had MP-53's since 2010 and never looked back. Love Mizuno. I recently played a tournament and got significant damage to my 4 iron from a rock in the ground and a ding on the 7iron so I will be replacing them next year. But as everyone knows, I told the irons, "it's not you, it's me". Had I known I was going to TXG for a fitting this month, I think I would have held onfo them to use as my current set for Ian to fit against. I know he's very high on the entire JPX line and especially the Hot Metals for higher handicaps. Yeah, Jlukes mentioned the stage 3's have been dropped. I believe but you would know better than me if you just reread the thread, that I dropped a few final comments about them over the winter. null
Didn't have my best ballstriking day with the 900 Tours on Wednesday but it just reaffirmed why I love these irons so much - the predictable miss. Shots toward the toe or a little on the face still flew well and only lost a little yardage. No crazy jumpers. Just love having a modern looking players cavity iron. NiftyNiblick
I remember when I first saw Mizuno irons--it was a long time ago, although I can't remember exactly when. They were always impressive looking, and then Faldo pushed them over the top big time. A lot of guys seem to adjust them upright, but for me, they're irons that don't need to be adjusted flat. Also, a 2005 (I think) Mizuno Fli Hi knocked a vintage Wilson 1200GE 1-iron out of my bag as my driving iron. Anyway, those JPX 900 Tours look like yet another worthy successor to the tradition, more like MP clubs than previous JPXs, and I've never seen a bad review on them. null
The article on the 919 tours mentioned a new finish that will wear better than the finish on the 900s. I took some pictures of my 900s to show why Mizuno might have been unhappy with the finish. It's barely noticeable up close, but a perfectionist company like Mizuno probably wanted to improve on it. bens197
I would throw these into the legion of legendary iron status. Among the following I think it's fair to say that the JPX 900 Tours who were selected by former Nike guys and off-contract golfers as their iron of choice are as good as anything ever made.
