Arccos and game golf

Right let me start by saying I have game golf I have used it and found it very use full "BUT"

When I play golf I am so deep in looking at the intended target, the weather, wind direction, the lie, the club and shot choices etc.

That I forget to tap the end of the club on the on the main unit.

I just found it hard to remember to activate it before each shot.

I did manage to get quite a few rounds logged and learned a lot about my game.

Under a certain level of golf, I think it`s data is pretty useless.

If your strike is very inconsistent and let's say your 7 iron ranges from a 25 yard right shot at 135 yards and your next 7 iron shot is 30 yards left at 152 yards and this pattern goes through your complete bag whats it going to tell you?.........

You don`t need a computer to tell you your shite and you should take up bowling instead!! hehe

Anyway I bought new clubs and removed the game golf tabs from the bottom of each club not realizing that the club description had worn off the bottom of each tab

So I never bothered fitting them to my new irons because I don`t know which tab is for which club.

So does anyone else use Game golf or the arccos system

I use Arccos and I enjoy it. I can start my round and not ever worry about making sure I tap my clubs before each shot. The only issue that you may have with Arccos is putt registration. If you don't address each putt, mainly tap ins, like it's an actual putt it won't register. I have only had this happen maybe a handful of times, but it's super simple to just go in and click "add putt."

One cool thing that they just updated with Arccos is the new "plays like" feature. The app now reads wind direction and speed, as well as slope I believe. So not only does it give you yardages to front, center, and back of the green... it now tells you what it plays like.

Also, the caddie feature seems really cool once you have enough rounds under your belt.

Arccos works very well for me.  Nothing really to do during a round but double check the putt count.  The stats after the round are very helpful to see how your game is doing.  There are separate stats for driving, approach, chipping, sand and putting.  The app gives you a different handicap for each section to help identify areas to work on.

Sounds great that it does it automatically with the arccos.

I just can't remember to touch that main unit before every shot.

Also playing partners give those sly comments you know the dinosaur clever arse types

That probably scare the younger generation golfers away.

The Arccos is very expensive at £250 UK

it is probably such an awesome tool but to be honest they are pricing them selfs out of going big time here in the UK.

I'm not sure what it translates to your currency, but you can pick up the first gen set on eBay for

I use Arccos and I've gotten very used to playing with my iPhone 6s in my front pocket (ironically, changing to a thinner case made it substantially less bothersome).  I've never had a problem with registering shots, but I've gotten into a habit of checking after every hole to make sure the right amount of putts were registered.

That said, I'm very interested to see how Shot Scope v2 turns out.

Currently Playing:

  • TaylorMade SIM2 Titanium
  • Callaway X-Forged Utility
  • Srixon Z765
  • Cleveland RTX4
  • Evnroll ER1.2
