Shirt Tail: Tucked or Untucked?

I know this crosses into the etiquette swim lane but was curious what everyone's preferences were for this topic.

 

Personally, I tend to play better untucked but I can only do that with certain shirts. I'd be willing to bet there's clubs out there that would frown on this but mine is not one. When I go to a new course, I always tuck out of respect but may loosen up if I think the vibe of the place will allow it.

Tucked, and when it becomes untucked,  I tuck it in again.  I think you find that younger players tend to be untucked and older tucked.

Depends on the type of round I'm playing.

Casual/practice = untucked

 

Actual game/tournament = always tucked with matching belt. That's another thing that bothers me. Put a belt on people.

I prefer shirts to be tucked in, it just looks right.  Untucked looks too "messy" to my old eyes.  I won't play with my own shirt untucked.

Certain shirts are made to be untucked. If it looks good untucked I'll wear it like that, but otherwise I always tuck

Tucked always. I hate it when the belt rub my stomach.

 

One of the event I played long time age I was wearing the full knickers with shirt and tie and winged tip. I enjoyed it but can't imagine playing at the munis dressing like that. I did wear it at my club playing alone last year.

Tucked and I dress pretty well no matter what type of round. I figure if I'm going to play terrible golf, I might as well look good doing it.

 

I also can't stand a buckle rubbing on my gut. My wife says that's a sign I need to get rid of the gut. What does she know?

Tucked, always have. Most courses I played up north that's the way it was.

FL, I still tuck but some guys untuck. Still have to have a collared shirt though.

Tucked in. That's one thing I like about the Adiddas ultimate shorts. They have the waist band on the inside that holds the shirt in place and keeps it from coming untucked during the round.

Yes! I have that on a few Izod shorts I've got. It's really so nice and you notice the difference when you go back to normal shorts.

 

That band does feel a little yucky when I wear them with regular Ts for casual events and don't tuck. The gooey band grabs my belly hairs.

LOL. Good to know. I'll keep that in mind. I have a couple other brand shorts that I usually wear for casual, and they don't have it. So no worries there. Ha

... All my golf shirts are FootJoys I have picked up on sale. They tend to have very long tails so I always tuck them but then pull them out a little so they are roomy for my swing. On extremely hot days above 90* and high humidity I will leave them untucked.
