Ever lost a ball?

I know that anyone who has ever played the game has lost their fair share of balls. That's not what I'm asking. The other day I had 158 yd shot, took out my trusty 9i, made a good swing with good contact. Only problem is never seen it leave the club, nor did the guy I was playing with. Straight away par 4, no woods, no water, nothing to hide my ball. Looked for a few minutes with no luck. That's the first time it's happened to me. Usually I'm the one that has to watch other people's ball (got that hawk eye as I like to call it). Anyone else had a similar experience? My guess is aliens took it.

I have that happen on the tee from time to time but my partners usually see the flight for me. Never really on approach shots.

 

The other day at the range, it seemed like 1/3 of my balls disappeared as soon as I made contact. Something funny with the tree line/cloud color.

My guess is that it was buried in the bunker short. :)

 

Yes I've had it happen and yes 99.9 percent of the time it didn't go as far as you thought it did.

That's the thing. Cloudy day=no sun. No bunkers. Rough had just been mowed. Wide open so should've at least seen it come down or drove past it on the way to the hole. Even went back to where I hit it and searched all the way to the hole. Still convinced it was beamed up by

Happened to me today off the tee, and none of the jerks I was playing with watched for me. I literally didn't see it off my driver, and just drove straight hoping. Luckily I absolutely crushed it down the middle and outdrove all of my jerk coworkers by 40 yards at least.

This happens to me a lot. I hit it, got the line it's on. Watch my partner hit and next thing I know my ball is gone. I blame squirrels

It happens.. the worst like Mr. Theo says you watch someone else or get back to the cart and start driving to it and now everything looks different cause your now at a different angle to where you saw it..

Happens all the time, but my groups keep it friendly. We all saw where it went and know where it should be. Just drop one where they say and hit 2.

I lost one on a wide open fairway hitting an 8 iron - 155 yards. I think I hit a wet spot just in front or back of the green. Just went into the grass & the grass just sucked over the ball. No place else it could have gone as I saw my ball going high & straight. Maybe the same thing happened to your ball. Grass gets real damp near sprinklers. Especially in the AM.

Had this happen before, but I found the ball as we were walking back to the carts after finishing the hole. Water had pooled near a sprinkler and the ground was real soft. All but a nickel sized piece of the top of the ball was buried.

Had this happen last week in league. Hit a 3 wood. Never saw it off the face and no one else did either. The sky was an odd color as the sun was setting and it made it tough to watch the ball. I knew I hit it ok. And luckily we did find it but if I was by my self I wouldn't have looked behind the bunker on the left.
