My wife knitted these head covers last winter to match the red and black theme I have going. She was going to make one for the hybrid I got but she can't find the pattern online anymore. Should have printed it. Anyway they are great and get a lot of comments, just thought I'd share.

Here's Beaker. She also did Grover but I haven't used him since I switched to a smaller-headed hybrid. Will have to dig him out for a picture.

Is it possible to"de-construct" an existing one .. then she could measure / duplicate it? Of course, then she'd have more work to re-sew that one back together.....

For what it's worth, there's tons of knitting forums where you can get headcover patterns for free. Lots of wives/moms/grandmas knit headcovers for the men in their lives.

 

When my mom did Beaker, she took an existing headcover pattern and merged it with a puppet pattern. I think Grover was a complete headcover pattern already put together. The patterns usually list the right colors of yarn to make it perfect without having to eyeball. Besides characters, there's tons of normal ones too.

Beaker looks awesome, some fine crafting went into that. The bull scares me a bit though. Looks mean.

 

She thinks it can be done it's just a matter of figuring out the type of stitch used for each part. She gave a bunch technical knitting jargon but I am just an old aircraft mechanic so most of it went over my head. I just nodded politely and wished her the best of luck. Hope it can be done though.

Sounds familiar. In 2004 I was there to give them a bit of technical assistance with some T33 aircraft they had purchased from the Canadian Airforce. Got the full nickel tour, amazing what they do there.

Nope. Just a Canadian that likes red and black golf stuff. Even mark my ball with red and black dots. Towel is red and black. Wife says it's because I'm colour blind.

Those look really nice, I am jealous. My wife is getting into knitting now, and is going to start some for me as her next project. They will be basic ones with poms on top, but I can't wait.
