SPY VIP GolfSpy Dave Posted September 11, 2017 SPY VIP Share Posted September 11, 2017 Was thinking about the state of the bag as the summer winds down and I realized that there are a bunch of clubs that I am not interested in swapping out next year. Curious what you have in the bag that will be persisting on into the 2018 season. Here's my set: Driver: PING G400 - Secure in bag Fairways: Cobra F7 3W and 5W - Secure in bag Hybrid: PING G - could go, not life changing Irons: Mizuno JPX-EZ Forged - good, but could go - maybe G400 Wedges: Cleveland RTX-3 54/58 - Dig these a bunch, likely secure but may try CBX Putter: Odyssey O-Works Red 7s- pretty locked which for a putter is a surprise Volvo Intorqueo All the cool kids follow me on twitter: @GolfspyDave If you are not a cool kid, following me on twitter will make you cool... GolfSpy_APH
I'm pretty happy with the majority of my bag. Things that may change are driver. However that's a yearly thing which I always have a eye to update. Club between iron and 3 wood. Haven't really found that club which suits me well there. 3 wood (cobra f7) won't be going anywhere as it's the most consistent club in my bag. Irons I'm very pleased with as well as my putter. I have two sets up wedges which I love both so can complain there either! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy as of Nov 6, 2023 (Past WITB) Driver: Paradym TD w/ GD ADDI 6X Driver Shootout! STUDque
I don't see any reason to switch a club out. But then again, I say that at the conclusion of most seasons. deejaid
I switched all my irons and wedges to Ping ISI white dots last month and having a blast with them. Love the funky looking heads in my bag but the performance is where they shine. Such easy clubs to hit. I think they will be staying in the bag for awhile. I'm very happy with my putting now that I moved to a face balanced design with the Zing 5. My Nicklaus Air Max 3-wood has been in the bag for 15 years and isn't going anywhere. Driver and Hybrid are the only ??? In the bag right now. Maybe by spring I'll finally get a driver fitting for a G400. I'm not happy with the consistency of my hybrid and am considering replacing it with a 5 or 7 wood. MattF
My fairway, hybrids, irons and wedges are all a lock. Peanut05
I've got the Epic on the way this year, so it's probably going to stay in the bag throughout 2018. My irons and wedges are usually pretty solid, so they'll probably stay as well as my putter that I've had for the last 7-8 years. The only thing that may get switched out is my fairways woods. I'm still hitting the X-Hot woods from several years back. While I hit them really well for the most part, I may upgrade them just to upgrade them this year. I'm not sure on that yet.
