Who can't But love the fall season? The changing of the leaves is actually quite beautiful. What will be more beautiful is my planned hike down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in a few weeks.Might be chilly on the south rim, but the scenery is just beautiful this time of year.Cant wait

... Who? ME! I had plenty of nice fall weather growing up in North Carolina, warm during the day and a little chill in the air at night. Especially friday right lights and some high school football games. But here in Chicago we went from 90* to the 40's almost overnight. Been cold the last two weeks with wind chills in the 20's and of course, no golf. I can see beautiful  leaves in movies or paintings, so give me sunshine and warm enough weather to play some golf. That said, I hope the Grand Canyon is spectacular for you!

Agree the weather has changed fast.Maybe I'm just different than most on here.My season is pretty much done once I can't wear a polo shirt and shorts.Wearing several layers of clothes to swing a club doesn't interest me at all anymore.Im avid but not a true die hard

I'm a true die hard.  I have always played all winter long as long as there isn't snow.  Bundle up, walk briskly; my game is not all that different from playing in polo shirt and shorts.  SO what does that tell you about my swing?   ;)

With that said... I'm headed to Palm Springs in January!!

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

I hate the cold! If I have to wear more than a sweat shirt, I'm not playing!

Now this turned into a rant thread .Ive tried the colder weather fall-spring golf for many a year.Have no interest to participate in that any longer.Im a fair weather golfer for good now

Run along you two. You know where to take those negative vibes. This is a happy place for happy things.

I played well today in spite of the cold and wet course. It has rained for the past three days and it was cart path only. In spite of no roll to the ball and greens that couldn't decide whether they were slow or fast I was pleased with my game.

Yesterday I dropped in to play a quick 9 at the local club in the town I grew up in, but have spent very little time in over the last 25 years.

I'd looked at playing at another club in the neighbouring town, but it was closed due to it hosting the State Senoir PGA championship. The headline players were Ian Baker-Finch and Peter Senior.

As I was hitting a few putts on the practice green, a kid who was chipping a few balls started talking to me. He would have been around 13/14.

He said (very excitedly) "I went to the Senior PGA, and I bought a ball to see if I could get it signed by IBF. He said put that one away, I'll sign one of mine for you"

The kid was over the moon. Great work by IBF, this young bloke will love the game even more after that.

This was in the middle of a series of great moments on a memorable day.

That's really great, Peaksy- that kid'll be talking about that for years. I was lucky enough to follow Peter Senior at the 3M a few times before he had to shut it down. Very cool.

You guys need to start home brewing! My cost now is about $0.50 a 12oz. I just racked a coffee porter into the secondary. It'll sit there for a week and go into bottles next weekend for 3 weeks, then it's tasting time.

God I've been constantly refreshing eBay over the past week. Most of my listings had watchers but only a fraction actually got bids, then two of those didn't pay. Now I've got them relisted for another week.

I know patience is the name of the game with eBay but it's tough when I'm trying to get a f7 hybrid with the proceeds AND get it in play this year while the weather is nice.

Isn't it refreshing when you can promote a comment from the Rant Thread to Happy Thread?

Follow up time. After my third week of listing items, I've sold all the high ticket items for amounts that please me and am just left with the scraps.

Best of all, the items I didn't get paid for sold for more money on the relist.

Oh Happy Day!

For the first time in the last 5 years I went clothes shopping and did not get pissed off and walk out. Finally down to sizes sold in normal stores and not in the large mammal section. I am now within 40 pounds of my goal weight. Still fat but not as large as I was 8 months ago.
