I always liked that quote - morbid as it is. 😁

Looked at a GT500 Supersnake today. If they budge off the asking price a bit it is mine.

After attending Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale this past spring, this would be my choice.  Arguably the best performance to cost value in the market IMHO.  We went on days 2 and 3 which was fun because a good portion of the inventory had already been auctioned.  We could see and were quite surprised by the final purchase prices - many much lower than I would have thought. Like BMW's and Mercedes which new sold at $100,000+  for $15,000- $20,000.  Also saw many really nice condition 60's and 70's classics for less than $40,000.  Not full-up restorations mind you but just nice looking weekend fun.

I want to go like my grandfather, peacefully in my sleep.  Unlike the people sitting in the back seat.     There was a time that I figured I would be 92 and shot by a jealous husband.

An 86 year old Italian friend of mine died 8 years ago while playing golf in Naples, FL.  No, it wasn't after he got a hole-on-one; he got that at age 82.  I hope I'm so lucky!

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

SWMBO has banned me from car auctions for a lot of reasons. The Supersnake deal is not going to happen as of now. The seller has a lot of nostalgia in the car and I don’t pay a premium for someone else’s fond memories.

It has been very liberating not having to worry about my house. Officially done with it last Friday, but we have occupancy till Monday. Haven’t been there since last Friday living in it, but knowing that I won’t have that giant monkey on my back come spring when we move is a huge relief.

I'm not going to start a poll, but I am curious nonetheless---

what's preferable--being called a "baked bean" or a "Masshole?"

I haven't really been baked since I was forty, but I'm still pretty much of a....

How about neither. Or if you really want a moniker "Yankee" is probably appropriate. Oh wait you're from Boston.

Spent yesterday with my beautiful wife watching the Sabres beat Ottawa 9-2. A nice day date with some cold drinks and some food before walking to the rink. Nothing beats a win with a home Buffalo crowd. IMG_0520.JPG

Moved to the Boston area in 2000.... I've heard something about "Boston baked beans" twice - once was when I lived in Oregon and the other time was a joke I heard.  Bostonians/Commonwealth residents will look at you puzzled when you ask about the baked bean thing...

It's my favorite MA joke and gets the little ones laughing.

A: "Did you know that there are the SAME amount of beans in every can of boston baked beans?"

B: "Oh, really, how many is that?"

A: "239"

B: "really?  why?"

A: "because one more would be too-fawty"  (supposed to use your best Boston accent here)

Especially funny during Thanksgiving meals!

I seldom talk about my family on forums but after reading PMookie’s post I wanted to brag about my daughter a little. 9 college acceptances to date all coming with the colleges highest level of academic scholarship. Yesterday, she got a letter, from one of her top choices, asking her to apply for a full academic scholarship.

Congratulations - you must be very proud of her. And by the way - they say the 'apple doesn't fall far from the tree'. Keep us posted on where she goes to school.
