As long as the combined amount doesn't move you into a new bracket why would it matter? Actually, even if it did push you into a new bracket why would it matter? Wouldn't the portion in the old bracket be taxed at that rate and the portion in the new bracket be taxed at the new rate? Isn't 35% of 10 grand (for example) the same $3500 as 10 different $1000 checks all in the same 35% bracket? I'm not being snarky at all, can someone explain if I have this wrong? gaussman1
I’m guessing because it’s probably getting put in as a bonus so that gets hit differently. I guess that could matter if someone was an officer or owner so took very little "income" and the majority of their pay was dividend or distribution but it seems like if you're cashing in PTO you probably have a significant amount of w2 wage pay. I think it would just be more income no matter what it's called, wouldn't it?Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app Quote Rogue SZ 10.5 *NEW* Fujikura Pro Green 65 X Rogue 15 degree Evnflow Blue 6.5 Back in the Bag Z765 4-G Nippon Modus 120 Stiff 54 and 60 Amazing Grace Ass Kicker

Mr. 82
Honestly, with as complicated as our current tax laws are, I'm surprised there is anyone - CPA or otherwise, who understands any of it. My last check, pay wise, will be only for a week, which is half, since we are bi-weekly, and I believe they are still going to be sucking health insurance out of my check, which will take a massive amount of my one week of last pay. Adding on the 160 hours of sick time and combining it won't matter all that much in this scenario. GolfSpy MPR
Just finished playing 18 holes of computer golf with Kirke (who's five, almost six). We're playing with Xbox controllers. And he's on the easier difficulty, I'm on normal. And he just annihilated me.He shot a 10-under 62. He had a clean card going until he bogeyed 17, which made him cry. But he regained his composure to birdie 18.Here's the stats from the round:Looks like it's time to turn the difficulty level up on him. And most are earned in a 3 month stretch. My checks during those times are hit at a much higher tax rate than normal checks. It can also affect your 401k deduction. Which isnt the worst thing. I don't change my status often if at all, knowing I'll get it back in February in form of tax refund. And that is a low time of year so, it makes up for no commisson checks then. 59 minutes ago, russtopherb said: My daughter learned yesterday that she has been accepted to her top choice of colleges, MassArt! Popular Post ole gray
I'm not only happy, I'm pumped like a beagle hound in a rabbit den about my son graduating Infantry school at Fort Benning, Ga. I have been supporting a military group forum helping families who are not familiar with the terms used in the Army. It's greek to most of them and I'm fortunate through my experience, to be able to help them through this journey supporting their soldiers. I recently experienced one of the most amazing and heart tugging experiences I have ever been blessed with. I joined four other fathers who fought in foreign wars as we were given the opportunity to pin the blue Infantry Cord on our sons! Our sons were called up front and center for this special once in a lifetime opportunity. I get chill bumps thinking about it!
