My wife went boot shopping for me in Nashville. I have a pair of blue python and a pair of gray croc boots waiting for me at the hotel. Not sure what she spent on them but I was told “happy birthday and don’t f’in ask”.

At least I have two new pairs of dress shoes to wear to work.

Love them. I grew up in the mountains of PA and dress clothes were good boots and jeans without a Skoal ring. I lived in the city and tried to be “more sophisticated.” Turns out boots, jeans and a buckle is just me and why try and change it. My wife is happy that I am just back to being me and not trying to be everything to everyone. Have a lot going on with life right now and found what my foundation is so that is a start.

I agree 100% with you, my preferred clothing is either shorts, polo and flip flops or jeans, polo and boots. I’ve quit trying to impress anyone and am who I am, my wife agrees also.

Sunday night the kids won the New England championship with the show's high score - 98.5.

This Saturday we're off to MetLife for Nationals, and we got word that we've got the prime placement in our division to put out a great score if the kids do well. 

Last night a black cat runs around the field at MetLife... our show name is "The Witching Hour" ... hmmm...

They really have, and I'm so proud of all of them. It's like I have 120 kids of my own that I'm proud poppa to!

This is the music director's last year, as he is retiring in the spring. If he's able to be sent off with a national championship, I can't think of a better ending.

Well after a lot of reflection, talking with my family and some prayers I am ready to make a fairly big life change over the next month or so.  Can't technically say what I am going to be doing but for the first time in 8 years I will be able to live full time with my wife and children on Long Island.  Was a hard road to get to this decision but finally at peace with a lot of the inner turmoil that we have had over the last few months.  Sometimes big changes are a good thing.

Unfortunately not but this will allow me to play a heck of a lot more golf next year and in the years to come.

Crazy weekend starting off in Charleston ended with a company conference in Pinehurst.  Got to top the long weekend off with a round on number 5 with a coworker and a couple of wholesalers that we do business with.  Cherry on top was hitting a nice draw bomb off the 18th tee in front of the executives of the company.  
 

Between the black squirrels, playing an amazing golf course, being with some good people, and the sheer beauty of the area—Pinehurst might be my new favorite place on earth.

It was a long weekend but it was well worth the complete lack of sleep - our kids won their fourth national championship IN A ROW, with a score of 98.575. That score ties the highest on record of any band in the circuit, which was set in 2008. 

My son's the goofball on the right in white holding the championship banner

 

Now that the season is over, I can share a video of their performance online. Here's their championship run from MetLife Stadium this weekend.

I lost my voice for a good 5 minutes I screamed so loud.

Well now that my company has been sold and delisted from the Nasdaq I can let the cat out of the bag. I have decided to not stay on as the CFO with the new owners and have elected to move onto a new venture. As I have gone through the sale process I met a lot of people along the way that have told me there is a market for me as a consultant that could be quite lucrative and allow me some more family time as well as not having to do a traditional office job. I figured now is as good a time as any to give it a shot and see if over the next year or two I can build this into something that I can work on full time. With that being said I will be done in my current role within the next 30 days and then will be taking on a consulting role at for the company for the next six months along with working on some other consulting roles outside of the gaming industry. Never thought this would be the path that I would choose but having a few years of guaranteed income from my current contract will at least allow me time to see if this is for me or if I want to go back to the traditional work force. Excited to give something new a try and see what fruit it may bear and worse case I make a few extra bucks outside of my normal salary as well
as get some family and time at home. I have been away or traveling way too much over the last 10 years so now I get to enjoy some of the perks that the last decade away has afforded me.

On a related note I will mostly be home during the summer so that means golf just about every day that it doesn’t rain.

Congrats sir! Went out on my own as well this year and while I don't have a guaranteed income from a previous job, I thankfully have a wife that does fairly well and we're hardly big spenders. Best of luck to you and your ventures.
