Popular Post tony@CIC
That was awesome this morning. I didn’t know about the launch until this morning. I was watching Fox News B4 leaving for “Bacon Boys 9” and they showed the count down so I went outside and there it was. Really coolSent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpyMy last gig before retiring was running an electronics company that supplied the mil-aerospace markets. ULA was one of our customers and I was invited down to the rocket assembly plant in Decatur, Al. The facility was big enough to assemble 24 rockets (re Atlas, Saturn, etc). They only had 12 in process at the time but we got to climb inside one. The tour ((not open to the public) was unbelievable and climbing into a rocket was a once in a lifetime experience. The one rocket we were in was scheduled for launch 6 months later - so got to watch the launch on tv (unfortunately), wished we could have watched it up close. I will pick her up in Eugene and we will stop in Brookings for some crazy fabulous pizza at Zolas. Hard to catch up during the fall as she has a ton going on at school so a road trip will be good to catch up. She will then make it back to Salem (home) for Christmas before she heads out to So Cal for the Rose Bowl as a member of the Ducks marching band. Crazy full schedule with lots of band gigs going on for the media and what not. Bittersweet in a way as the Rose Bowl was my dads favorite bowl game and he would be so proud and maybe a little jealous of her adventure. Had a real nice quick road trip with my daughter. Picked her up in Eugene and stopped at Wildlife Safari in Winston. From there we went to Bandon for lunch and a quick drive through of Bandon Dunes. Off to Brookings for the night and dinner at our favorite pizza joint, Zolas. Caught a Christmas light show in a park that night in Brookings that was an absolutley amazing light show. A must do if in the area during the holidays. Up in the morning to the Redwoods for a hike and explore a few places weve camped at that she didnt really remember. Im always in awe at those gigantic treed. Made our way back to Eugene via a few antique stores. Buddy called me on the road and had UO mens basketball tickets that night so we met at my daughters apartment which is next door to the arena and walked over. Kid usually plays at the game but she is on break so she stayed home. Just nice to catch up on each others life since she has been non-stop since September with school, music, band, and work. Shankster
Thanks fellas. This past 6 months was the icing on the cake. It’s been tough, they are definitely getting their monies worth out of me. It’s been pretty much non-stop since July 22nd. I don’t mind being busy, in fact I love it. Just a constant battle, some things breaks while I’m in the middle of another project.... haven’t seen anything like it in my 13 years. It’s very strange.
