Yeah, listening to crickets at night is very relaxing.  BUT, last year I had ONE cricket outside my bedroom window... that's a PITA!!!

You need a trip to FL during rainy season. Unbelievable light shows.

Some days we golf and some days we spend putting lead in the sky. For an old dude I went 28/30 in my first set, 29/30 in the second and 28/30 in the third. Surprised I had 90 shots in me.

Oh and my son Cleetus did a respectable job as well.

Not sure if this qualifies as happy since it is certainly anxiety-inducing.... but we put an offer in on a house and it was recently accepted.
Now we are scrambling to prep our house for photos, open house, etc.
We are moving 3.2 miles - from the suburbs into town. Shortest move ever.... but that doesn't make it any easier; absolutely despise moving.

Congrats!! Good luck with the closing and selling of your current home!

Congrats. Got you beat on shortest move: 7 houses on same street. Biggest lesson I learned is pack like a 100 mile move and don’t say we can just move this pile because it is just down the street. You end up with stuff everywhere.

Congratulations on the new house! I think I can safely say I've got everyone beaten for longest move, 12,000 miles. I managed to condense my life down to 2 suitcases, a PVC tube (fishing rods), lawn equipment (my Dad's), a hand held tool box and I think it was 6 boxes. That's quite a feat there Matt.  When we moved 5 miles away in WA I could not believe the crap we threw out, donated, and sold at a garage sale - just two people in a house for 22 years.  We swore we would not fill the new, much bigger house, such that we'd have to do it again 8 years later when I retired... and I'll be damned if we didn't repeat the offense.  I recall standing in the back of my truck at the disposal yard tossing my high school yearbooks and C5A flight manuals into the dumpster.  Stuff that had not seen the light of day for decades. I was grousing about it with my brother at the time and said "I don't know how that happens".  He replied, "one trip to Walmart, Lowes, and Costco at a time". 🙂

Congrats - a new home is always exciting. Hope your current home sells quickly.

We just moved a mile down the road a month ago. It was the shortest move but the most stressful since we downsized by about 50%. Lots of trips to Goodwill, a local community resale shop and the inevitable dumpster, and I still have a storage unit with stuff.

We moved approximately 2 miles in FL 6 years ago. It was a more difficult move than moving from CT to FL 8.5 years ago.
Good luck!

Almost everyone sets goals in life but I find that most of the time when we achieve them, that happiness is short lived because we move on to the next goal.  However, every now and again it is nice to take a second and smell the roses.

When my senior season got cancelled back in March, I knew I would be spending some time golfing in the summer months to cope and remain competitive.  My two goals were to break 80 and to become a single digit handicapper by the end of the season.  Well, this weekend I shot 76-79, and the index is down to an 8.1.  Even now, I know I can continue to do things much better, but I am glad that the practice and my working on course management is beginning to pay off.  Nice to remind yourself that you are doing just fine sometimes.

On to 72!

Cheers all

My younger daughter who is in her final year of high school just got a negative COVIDSafe test back after having to quarantine within the house for the last week after a few cases at her school that were deemed close contact. She was going to be at home anyway, but I’m very happy for all of us at home and the guys I’ve been working with that she’s all clear

Our oldest Gdaughter moved into her Dorm @ Villanova Tuesday.
We read all the Villanova paperwork on how they are going to conduct the Fall Semester, sounds like they have everything covered.
