The amusing part for the fireman in me was Jack McGee, the neighbor who gave it away to the Pearsons was a real life fireman for FDNY in Da Bronx who also played Chief Reilly in Rescue me and of course, Driver Engineer Otis Schmidt in Backdraft

Just ACED my final for Romans!!!  

Waiting on my final grade for my other class, but unless I get a D or worse on my paper I’ll be rolling with my 4.0 into the final semester…

Try Leeks, much less of that going on, and a lot richer flavor.  We don’t even buy onions anymore.  Unless I’m feeling some for a burger, or when I make salsa.  Soups, and what not get Leeks.

Just found out this afternoon I will be getting a promotion, starting immediately, to be announced to our group tomorrow.

There have been some internal changes since the start of 2021, and it had been mentioned I might be up for some moving around, but I didn't think it would happen, and not just out of the blue.

Nervously excited. Different responsibilities moving forward once we hire to back fill some of the stuff I currently do on a daily basis.

Thanks! Same boss, so it should. Pretty well known 'round these parts that you won't find me in the office at certain times throughout the summer .

I have a 2014 Kia Optima that was sold with the standard 100k mile warranty. Well at 101,788 my engine blew up a bearing Rod and the car needs a whole new engine. 2 different shops quoted me 6k. Not really what I wanted to be paying for right now.

 

On 2 different calls, the dealership originally told me I was no longer covered under any warranty so I was about a day away from donating the car...I made a last ditch effort to get in touch with Kia USA Directly and after an hour on hold I got to talk to a person and since I am the original owner of the car and had done my recalls a few years ago they are going to replace it under warranty at no cost AND gave me a rental for the 3 weeks it will take for parts to come in. Went from worst case scenario to awesome customer service!

Welcome to the world little one! You got to witness a shank of all shanks and a big right miss into the hazard the next night. Hopefully you won't repeat these mistakes but let's be honest we all do!

Time for me to get some putting practice on carpet and hoping my game does not completely fall apart over the next couple of months, but it is well worth it if it does.

sounds like you should hold open applications for your old role on here... I bet there's a few guys who would love to have built in golf time on the work calendar! haha

That's great. My wife has a 2021 Seltos and this is another reason I'm looking at a Kia myself.

Just got incentivized based pay at work. I’ve been pulling time and a half for the last 6 months at work to pick up some of the slack with 2 other coworkers and it will finally be paying off. No back pay for the extra people and extra time I’ve been working but going forward I’ll see a bit more money with quarterly bonuses. It likely just made it easier to transition to a full junior CC membership!

After a craptastic few weeks I got my official invitation yesterday to play in the Pro Am for the Dominion Energy Charity Classic at The Country Club of Virginia in October.  Was told a month ago I was playing and now it is official.  should be fun to play in and hopefully we get a good pro for the group.  Now to figure out how to keep playing golf until October with my work schedule.

Alright a bit of a good story mixed with some bad but here we go. Both myself and my wife are Veterans of the Navy and we both did 4 years and got out. In 2017 my wife was diagnosed with cancer and she was hesitant to get care through the VA with how terrible their record has been. She's had stage 4 cancer for roughly 4.5 years now and the care has been Phenomenal. Her cancer numbers have gone down. Unfortunately her lung is acting funny and not doing the best but after all the care she has received and the high quality of it I'm confident she will get better. The VA has really stepped up their game for her and I hope other vets are getting a similar experience.

You're not wrong mate...she hasn't met a casino she doesn't like (don't tell @Jmikecpa, we need to hang on to our money!). I actually walked away with $80 more than I went in with, and if you know my luck with gambling, you know I was happy with that.
