My nephew is in with my parents for up to a month and I’m spending part of the weekend with them. His autism makes understanding him tough but every time he spends a prolonged period with my mom his speech improves so I’m looking forward to taking him to my work firehouse and taking him a few places to have fun.

Scratch that… US AM is there that week

Check out Bandon Crossings. With the AM there it may be tough for a time but it is a fun spot to play.

I can only imagine the emotions of leaving your home of the last eight years, where you've grown as a family and made a lot of memories. Here's hoping that your new home will provide lots of new ones. After seeing all the photos and hearing the stories about your family, I bet you'll all make amazing ones.

My 16 year old son is with my wife and my girls down in south jersey for a few days. My wife took them to dinner tonight and it was “country night”.  My son dressed normally in his boots, Wranglers and cowboy hat along with a sleeveless Brooks and Dunn shirt and Skoal can. He had allegedly done well with the ladies by just being him and brought down the house when he started line dancing. Glad my redneck roots made him a star 🤦‍♂️

This is awesome! Both times I won the lottery I got to go on Wednesday and see the Par 3 Contest. I saw back-to-back holes-in-one from the same group on one of the holes, it was insane! Also walked with Paulina Gretzky for a few holes while watching DJ and met Lynn Swan who is a member at Augusta and was helping marshall the Par 3 Contest. Hope you have a blast!

For the past month or so, I've started to play more tennis.  I did not realize how much I missed the sport and being out there.  Since having kids, I really put it on the back burner and have hardly played in the past 8 years.  The only downfall is that I have not been playing any golf lately.  Only so much time.

Also, a couple takeaways:

1.  My racket is about 12 years old, so I decided to demo a couple rackets.  I was not ready for the prices of rackets these days.  Some are as much as $279 new.  Used to be in the $160 range, but I should not have really been surprised based on price increases on everything else.

2. Just how much better on my elbow, shoulder and wrists the newer rackets are.  With the demo's, I had a little to no soreness after playing.  Then I went back to my racket for a session and I was hurting the next two days.

I did not find a clear winner for new racket, but rather 3 that I thoroughly enjoyed and I was able to find two of those (Head Gravity Pro) on eBay for a great deal so that always makes me happy too!  Hopefully they come in decent shape, it was hard to tell exactly how many scratches and scuffs from the pictures.  Definitely a few, but that doesn't really bother me as long as the racket still plays fine.

Strings play a huge part in soreness associated with tennis as well. I haven't played since our car accident years ago, but I used to string for some ATP players and at the local ATP tournament when it was in town. Back then all demos were strung up with a high quality multifilament string near the middle of the recommended range. That would make a huge difference to someone that was used to playing a poly string. Old strings are also terrible for your arm. I was in a two week restring schedule when I was playing to help avoid elbow problems.

Thanks for the welcome back! I've missed being here. Yes all is well. It's hot in TX but seems never too hot for golf. Just prepare well.

LOL, just reviewed my last posted MGS handicap. I went down to 16 and now back up to 18. Guess not much changes in the long run.
