We dug the hole, put in a sleeve for the flag pole, poured a 3'x3'x3' cement base that was flush with the surface. We got a monument that was engraved wrong for next to nothing. Then had a plaque made to honor the vets and mounted it over the original engraving. We had the 4 branches of the military stones cast in cement and painted them. Mounted the flag pole, installed a solar light. Then did the surrounding area in red stone and pavers. It was a pretty serious project and took a few weekends to complete. That's amazing work y'all did Tom. It's a beautiful way to honor those who served. I especially love the medallions honoring each branch of the military.

It was a big event with the high school band playing, speeches, newspaper was there, and about 100 people. He raised the flag for the first time at the ceremony. One of the parishioners grandfather was buried there and received the medal of honor. He jumped on a grenade and saved his squad. Needless to say his story was told that day and there wasn't a dry eye. It was a great project that my son can be proud of forever. 6 1 Quote Driver, TSi1 10* Stiff Flex 3 Wood, SLDR HL 17* R Flex 5 Wood, SLDR 19* R Flex 7 Wood, F6 22.5* R Flex 939x 5 hybrid Irons, 699 Pro's S Flex (6 - AW) JB Wedge 56* Wedge, CBX 60* Putter, Marksman Fang 35"
Popular Post sirchunksalot 15,778
We were finally able to bring my mother-in-law home after almost 4 months bouncing between the hospital and the rehab facility. It's going to be a bit crazy, but it'll be worth it. On a side note, moving a king size mattress upstairs isn't fun. Especially when it gets stuck between the ceiling and stairs. 8
RichL85 594
I finally got to play a round of golf. Well, part of a round, with rental clubs, but it's better than nothing for me. We were moving through the course until #14 and just hit a brick wall of groups in front. We ended up circling back and playing 10 and 11 again before we ran out of sunlight. 6 Quote Driver: Srixon Z565, Miyazaki Kaula Mizu 3 Wood: Snake Eyes Viper Tour, Aldila NV Hybrids: Snake Eyes Viper Tour 18 and 24 deg, Aldila NV Irons: Srixon I-701 5-PW, Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 Wedges: Callaway X-Forged 50, 54, and 58, Nippon Modus3 Wedge 115 Putter: Yes! There are many graduate degrees that are kind of pie in the sky (nothing wrong with that IMHO) but there are others that are the opposite of that -- topical and relevant. Good on you for picking the latter -- one that's going to keep you busy (and employed ) for the rest of your life. I bet it's fascinating at the graduate level. 4 Quote Driver: 2016 M2 -- Fujikara ventus red 3 Wood RBZ Stage 2 - Diamana Blue Board 2 Hybrid RBZ Stage 2 -- True Temper Elevate Tour (shares duty with 3I depending on the day) 699pro - 3I Driving Iron KBS Tour (shares duty with the 2 hybrid depending on the day) 699pro - 4I, 5I - 639CB 6/PW -- True Temper Elevate Elevate Tour RSI2 -- 4/PW- Nippon Modus 115 (Testing) Cleveland CBX2 48° & 54°-- TT Elevate Tour Hi Toe 58° -- TT Elevate Tour Innovai 6.0 CTR Ball: Zstar XV Divide
