Continuing to battle golfers elbow…I play and practice pain free during the round, with a compression sleeve on, but post-round when the sleeve comes off I definitely still feel little twinges.  The shaft swap has definitely helped.  However, my oldest is in the middle of flag football, and his baseball practices for next season have already started, and I’m an assistant coach for both, so I’m back to a lot of ball throwing.

In addition, I’d like to work on hand and forearm strength during the upcoming offseason in addition to my regular workout routines.  Picked up one of these the other day:

I’ll have to ease into it and be attentive to how it’s impacting this injury, but I’m optimistic it will have a strong rehab and strengthening effect.

You may want to try “K” tape…….it pulls your skin away from the muscles, helps to reduce inflammation.

I tried CBD (different types) on my knee/elbow and really didn’t do anything for me.
The only medication that has helped is Meloxicam.

So, I'm under the sink, installing a new faucet for the better half in our new home, arms over my head when I go to pull out and feel a pain rip through my left deltoid.  Wasted a couple of hours at urgent care with a nurse practitioner.  Still painful, albeit to a lesser extent.  Temperatures are going to be in the 70s tormorrow with a 77 predicted for Christmas....and I can't play.  Hoping it's nothing more than a torn deltoid muscle (which is what the symptoms indicate), but even that will take a couple of weeks to heal before playing again.  By then, I suspect winter will arrive here in Central Arkansas.  On the brighter side, life is still good.  Merry Christmas to my MGS golf buddies across the globe!!

Sorry about that Carl.  You know... we aren't as spry as we used to be.  As my retired Marine Colonel golfing buddy said when I hurt my shoulder last fall.  "You know, you can get people to do that."

Wish I were there now.  This weekend the temps are below freezing with 15-30 mph wind.  Single digits next week.

Doc in early January, but it’s been 2 months and nothing is getting better.  Frustrating.

Have you seen the acupuncturist or physical therapist?

I’ve had mine for the a couple of months. They flare up every season. It’s really a recurring issue I try to manage at this point.  I do practice a lot on mats.  I recently went to graphite shafts on my irons.  They feel so much better during practice and rounds.  But I still have to ice my elbow afterwards.

If you live in a state that allows for direct access you could start therapy before seeing an ortho. Hopefully the doc will help you out with something to calm down the elbow

While I'm not at 100% with my shoulder yet, I did go to the chipping and putting area for a bit the other day.  No issues (beyond my technique, of course).  Even went to the range and hit a few full 8 irons.  So far, so good, albeit I didn't pound balls very long, at all!  So, weather permitting, I'm hoping to get on the course Friday (but, I'm not sure the weather will be favorable as they're calling for rain and thunderstorms then dropping to freezing temps Sunday.

Do you use a forearm compression strap/band?  This worked great for me while still playing steel shafts.  I probably no longer need to wear it but I'm so use to it, I just always wear it when playing.

There are several exercises that you can do at home that will help relief the pain and cure the inflamed muscles.  Plus you can try some K tape.

Messed up my neck and shoulder last friday doing reverse flys from FFG winter program. I now have full arm motion back and about 90% neck range of motion back. Still a pinching pain. Tried to swing a golf club yesterday with no success. Getting stir crazy and kinda bummed. Was enterning my 2nd to last week of SS training and was hitting the half way mark of FFG.

As I have posted on other threads, I sustained an intercostal muscle injury playing about 3.5 weeks ago.  Been on rest and anti-inflammatory since... still hurts.  Received a referral for an x-ray today... which I will get to rule out a fracture - but all that will tell me is that I have double the time to do the same thing I have been doing... limit movement, ice, heat, Tylenol, rinse, repeat.  The sharp pain has improved, but I am still reminded of the injury with any movement engaging my right core - such as reaching with my right arm.  I was hoping to be back at least swinging softly by now, but based on the way my ribs feel today... at least a few more weeks. A little discouraged that I'm not able to take advantage of some of the best golfing weather we experience here in Houston😕 (though I really don't mind playing in the humid heat of summer - even being from the PacNW), but I am missing out on the start of my club's official Men's Club events.  Ah, well... there is always next year.

That's the bad thing about getting older, one day you're fine and the next thing you know you're throwing out your back when you sneeze. I hope there's no major issue with the knee and it'll be feeling better soon.

I can only imagine what you are going to be like when you reach my age... don't try chewing gum when you walk!

All of my skateboarding, BMX, and mountain bike falls are making themselves well known.  Not to mention 15 years worth of getting the snot kicked out of me on small boats…. It should be an interesting time when I retire.  I’ll probably resemble robocop.

Got news for you, living in a Senior living area I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have something replaced, rebuilt or renewed or in a wait list to get something done!!  Only SWMBO but she’s going to need a shoulder.
Im counting Pacemakers on this list as there seem to be a run on them lately.

I’ll fit right in.  Shoulder overhaul a few years ago.  I’ll need a knee at some point.

I hear ya. Years of martial arts competition, mtn. biking and tennis has made a walking injury out of me.😬
