Rickp
I enjoyed Adams video and his take on putters. He's right on about the boutique 1 offs as I've bought a few in the past and realize they are more “art†than technology. The putter I'm using now Odyssey # 7 sometimes looks to me like a 1950's hood ornament but it sure feels good. rexhall34
Just finished watching the video. It was GREAT. I am one of those people that previously bought putters for 'looks & feel' (and OK, maybe to show off a little). Bought a Scotty Studio Select Newport 1.5 - I absolutely had to have it. It looked so good and actually felt good and sounded good as well. Just one small problem, I couldn't make any puts with it. I track and chart every round I play. The Scotty cost me way more when we got back to the club house than what I paid for it. Still love the look, but sold it at a loss to save money. I now average 1.6 putts a hole through a good season of golf. I know, I know, doesn't seem to show up on my handicap, but it does. I just play fairway shots like s@!*. Keep up the great work. p.s. - tried to log in and couldn't - been a while, so maybe I got purged (still get all the emails though) Thanks again, rexall34

revkev
The sad thing is that I will go to WRX and read things of interest. I've tried posting a time or two. They are many fine people there as there are here. Thankfully we seem to pack the ones who love to pontificate. Occasionally several of us will vent (myself included) but it's occasional not predictable. I dare say that when it comes to tech Adam knows what he's talked about. People don't like to hear that their favorite or the thing that they just shelled out $400 or more for is a sham. So they go after the messenger. It is curious to me that positives about EVNRoll have twice elicited such violent reactions. Could be coincidence but it is of note. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy I've never been on that site but I poked around and it does strike me more as a "typical forum." It's the type of place where knowledgeable opinions are intermixed with personal attacks and aggressive behavior. I tend to think of MGS as more of a community. People have different opinions and discuss them in civility. While I've seen heated disagreements, I have yet to see a personal attack. It's still different strokes for different folks. WRX is successful for a different reason than MGS but it can't be denied that they're both influential forums in the golf community. Golfspy_CG2
Yep. I still visit it from time to time. And for the most part my exchanges and comments have been met with other reasonable and productive comments. Even if it's a differing view. But you run into to occasional jerk trying to show their bravado on a keyboard and it reminds me why I don't visit as often anymore. Stud summed it up pretty well. SPY VIP GolfSpy_X Posted November 5, 2017 SPY VIP Share Posted November 5, 2017 Let's see if they will have me on to debate our FACTS and their BS Wont happen because they see us as competition but it really needs to. Our purpose is to LEARN. EDUCATE and EMPOWER. Let's see what WRX's purpose is in this industry. Either evolve the conversation from the ridiculous (which is where we are on this topic) or just stop talking WRX. Thinking/Knowing technology works in all other categories (drivers, irons, etc) and thinking for some reason it does not for putters is just plain ignorant. Being completely honest these type of people on WRX with these baseless (they never have any research to back up anything) comments are doing more harm to other golfers and the industry than good. A name doesn't get you closer to the hole, technology does. * Feel free top post that on WRX as a challenge of sorts to move to conversation forward not laterally or backwards. #TruthDigest
SPY VIP GolfSpyC Posted November 5, 2017 SPY VIP Share Posted November 5, 2017 The proliferation of mental midgets over there never ceases to amaze me. Rather, it's further confirmation of how uphill the battle can be when you're entirely dedicated to performance. Humans will always have preferences which are colored by non-performance attributes (brand preference, aesthetics, vanity, etc) - That's not the point. The point is when you have a single metric and a single focus, you hold those other factors constant. Some can handle this type of analysis and approach - and clearly others cannot.
