Rickp
So far tied for “Bag Duty†with the Odyssey 7. I think I may change MLA grip to Super Stroke 2.0 and that will put it over the top. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy I'm also thinking a different grip like what you suggest is going to happen on my MLA. The stock grip doesn't feel right to me. STUDque
Isn't the stock grip a forward grip just with MLA branding? Actually, I answered my own question before hitting reply so here's the rest of what I found: The Tour Black edition gets the grip shown above (Forward, mid). The Tour and Pro series gets this one (Winn, pistol, STD): And the Tour Blade F&T gets these choices of the Forward grip: The MLA customer service is really a great group so I'd bet you can order them with whichever grip you prefer. I can say that the SS 2.0 that Jmikecpa has on his feels really good. It's just a little small for my hands so I'd be a 3.0 guy if I was doing it myself. Never got to try the Forward or Winn stock grips so I can't comment on my feelings towards them. I think I read in a few places that the Forward grips weren't jiving with the testers. AWLBMW
Kind of late to the party... but a finely expressed series of statements. This is one of the reasons I use a ping craz-e. Is it ugly? Yes, subjectively. Motorcycle man? Check. Lots of alignment aids? For me big plus. It fits my stroke, I like the weight, and I end up putting less (usually 2 putt, and manage to make some). I formally tried everything under the sun. Perimeter weighted, mallets, and oversized. Changed grips more than enough times. Then one day just tried a craz-e for giggles and boom, wish I found it sooner. When ping released sigma g craze, I bit quickly, it's my putter for the golf season. Using my g2i for practice, but I did try others before buy (even Scotty but way out of $$$, couldn't find ketch to try yet). This is why I enjoy MGS above all other forums. I know I picked up and tried a putter the other day from years gone by that was supposed to be one of the more technically advanced putters at the time (probably 15 years ago) and it simply did not perform near as well as a my current putter that had newer and more current technology in it. Irons that perform better than other irons. Wedges better than other wedges and so on and so on.... The same is true with putters. Agree with that statement. Putters just like any other club need to be fit to the player to get closer to optimal performance. Most players can pick up any club and have the ability to hit acceptable shots. The reason for bulge faces, weight distribution, MOI, etc is to help a player when you don't make a perfect swing. Pros make about 70% of their putts from 6 feet and the probably miss a lot of them due to less than perfect strikes. Incorporating tech that could help them improve that number to even 75% would be a pretty significant decrease in score. Same putter, same look, same feel but with something that helps correct for an open or closed clubface or strike that hits a little bit off from center should be something every golfer would want and see the value in owning. null
With drivers people can hit a new driver once or twice and see the results of certain technological advancements in real time. Those sort of instant and obvious results just won't be there from hitting a handful of putts. Like I even mentioned in my ER2 forum review, I'd had been foolish to say I could show how the technology works with a small sample size of personal data over a limited time, and because I am not a robot. .robot testing does visually show the technology working and my testing, over many rounds, shows the strokes gained is real and it because of technology. Kor.A.Door
Wish I could get my hands on some of this new Tech, sadly I am a lefty, and they don't make this new tech for us. One model if we are lucky, and no one ever has one to try. Last time I went to GG in the area they had 3 LH putters for sale in the entire store, and hundreds of right handed. There are enough left handed golfer around now that keeping some LH equipment in the store makes some sense. Because they don't activley promote the lefty golfer I Just don't buy from there. Tech sounds good, but when it's minimally available to the lefty market, it does no good for us, and we are left searching and guessing. Lefties are always in their Right Mind
