Gotta say, turning into a bit of a fan of what TaylorMade is doing with irons this year...

I am generally not a fan of TM irons but they have some winners in their current product line. The 790s are fantastic and would be in my bag if I didn't already have TMBs.

I'm seriously considering switching the irons back to TaylorMade. The 750/770 look awesome. The 790s as well. Could make for a good combo set I think

The TM rep was by our shop yesterday.   We of course talked new irons, from the 790's to these (which i believe might be a PGA Show release)   Like you, I've been really impressed with their iron lineup of late.   

 

Also a new driver he couldn't say anything about but says, it will be very very special.  I know, I know we've heard that before.

 

Also their ball lineup for 2018 has a couple really neat/cool things coming.  But no change to the TP5/TP5X...as he said, if it's not broke don't fix it.

Agreeing with JMike, they have released some fantastic looking irons this season!

Tell me about it.  Holding that 790 7 iron yesterday, I was saying.  man I could see this in my bag very easily.  But there's this little fact that i just bought a brand new set this week....ha

Oh and I have to say Props to Barbajo for sharing that tweet.  It shows the level of professionalism you get from MGS and the fact that no matter the source, if they find something cool  to share they will.    I can honestly say with 1000% certainty, that would not have been done in reverse.  But you do that when you are 100% confident in your site, and not afraid to let others see there are other forms of golf media out there.

 

But like I have done for the past year and half or so, I will always come to MGS for the best and most honest information....OK end of unpaid commercial... :D

Looks like TM wants to cater to both type of golfer - the one that wants the razzle dazzle of the M1/2 and the folks who like a classic-looking iron. Callaway is doing it as well with the Epics and now the forged/mb, and then 10 other shapes so there's absolutely one that suits your eye  :lol:

I can see a bit of MP18-SC there, maybe more so than the MB.

 

Love the 10 other shapes comment...so true though.

I purchased the 790's when they released and I must admit that these are a great set of irons.  i love the feel and forgiveness of these irons.

Maybe the blades but other than that they have their own unique look IMO. As for the Epic irons...fugly, not even in the same ballpark as these beauties.

Then of course I saw pics this morning of the new Wilson C300 Forged....oh my ❤️❤️

 

And I've seen what Bridgestone has coming in January in addition to the current X CB they already have out.

 

I guess irons could be like shoes. Multiple pairs and wear several different ones each week. Ha
