Mentioned this shot in another thread.  Finally found the middle of this thing I think.  I had set up for a little fade, but aimed improperly it seems.  Missed the fairway, but if it would have kicked forward I would have made the green.

Now, just need to remember how to find the center of Mr. 3 Iron… 👍🏼

SOD was a 3W after a botched drive on a par 5, put myself in a position to scrape a bird at worst par (ended up bogey after a poor executed flop) but key was I put myself in position to do so.

@Lacassem that would be the shot of the year for me.  Hitting 3 wood off the deck… not something I would like to do…. I’d probably pull driver.  And hook it off into the woods.

Great shot man!

This sim is like automatic for me it’s pretty incredible. I’m in a funk with driver too so she might be coming out more.

Shot of the day for me wasn’t a flashy one.

The 4-Hybrid (or well my TSi3 3-hybrid set to 21* and flat) off the tee on the third hole.  If I looked at a map of all my shots on this hole you’d see a lot of shots that ended up left from over drawing.  It was so nice to see the straight/fade off the tee with the hybrid to the center of the fairway.

My shot of the day came on a par 5 after a great drive and then so so wedge that left me in the greenside bunker. I was short sided, probably 15 feet of bunker to the lip, 5 feet of fringe and 10 feet of green, all running away. Tried a little 1/4 swing and...chunked it 2 feet forward. Set up similar and...chunked it 2 feet again. Tried not to loose my mind, and decided to open the face waaaay wide to pop it up and take distance off that way instead of the shorter swing. Made a nice committed swing, and holed it!

Driver - gap wedge - lob wedge - lob wedge - lob wedge par. Not quite how I drew it up 🤣

My SOD was all my one putts from Adele, with the highlite being the 25 footer to save my double sandy- worth $6 haha

but my favorite shot was just a perfectly struck 3w , second shot on a par 5

i just don’t hit many perfectly struck fairway woods

Had an approach go off a sprinkler head 40 yards past the hole into hardpan dirt.  SOD was my recovery flop shot back to a rear flag with no margin for error.  Opened a 56 up took a 3/4 back swing and slammed it down hard to use the bounce.  Ball popped up landed just past the fringe, checked up, then tricked to six inches.  It saved a bogey on what probably should have been a snowman.  One of the better flops I e ever made.

Shot of the day? Probably a few of my putts but we drive for show right?

Going with this one, 302 Off the tee to a slightly elevated green. Hit a 3/4 8 and landed pin high on a portion of the green that had a mound. Flopped on short side pin and 1 putted the 8’er

Nice work @jlukes is that a little creek running through there?

Yes sir. Just made it over the creek because of clipping the tree.  Was 270ish to carry it. Would have easily cleared it i hit it straight or didn’t clip the top of the 60 ft tall tree just off the fairway

Hit my iron left, against a tree.  Played my next shot off the tree, ball goes backwards onto the green and rolls into the cup foe eagle.

Looks like a nice course.

I hadn’t heard of it until Wednesday. Turns out it’s known as the “Most exclusive course” and “hardest course to get on” in Pennsylvania according to golf publications like golf magazine

did you bring the Mizzy’s?

The Kingsley Club and Crystal Downs in Michigan is probably as difficult to get on.
You have to be “The Dude”, or Jimmy Walker or know the secret handshake?

did it seem underutilized?  I don’t get that part of golf.  Such beautiful courses just sit there… seemS wasteful.  I am Looking to eventually retire in Asheville, NC… but the course that I’m interested in is invite only and costs a crap ton of dough.

Yeah. Used my entire fitted set. Mizzys were just so on point. Felt good making confident iron swings again.

There were quite a few groups going out before and after us. Not bad considering it was 90 and humid as hell today.

The nicer courses are nice because they limit play by either charging an arm and a leg, limit membership, or have very spaced out tee times. My course is private and in fantastic condition because we only have around 250 members and a portion of those are only social dining members. I have 3 other public courses close by and the conditions are not even close to my club. I only go there when there is an outing at mine.

The public courses get more play and the golfers don't do their part. They don't rake traps, fill faiway divots, repair ball marks on the green. On the private ones the members do their part. And take pride in their course.

I can honestly say my handicap is as low as it is because I have such good conditions to play on.

For a buddy's bachelor party we hit up a local course for a little scramble. Hit this stock PW, little fade that rode the wind and danced right near the hole. Ball mark is the fresh one about 2' short and left of the hole, ball ended up about dead straight below the hole about 2'. Can't say I didn't have some pretty crazy thoughts when it was in the air!

I mentioned them both in the How'd you play thread and yet, here they are again.

#5 par 4 Cart path assisted 294 drive, left me 60 something to the middle.

#9 par 4 235 into a 15 mph head wind for one of the best drives I've hit on that hole. If the wind wasn't blowing I'd love to see where it ended up.

After spending some focused time this week on my home range (mat and net) with my irons, took my honed swing to the course yesterday.  Proceeded to stuff a 7 iron from 155 to 12 feet on #1 - tracked the whole way, ball mark was just a few feet behind the ball.  Rolled the putt in for birdie.  Nice to have some work pay off for once.  Gives me hope.  ~Tim.

I went from making a comment on Friday saying, “I honestly don’t remember the last time I got an Eagle” to getting one on back-to-back days.

Saturday’s started with a pitiful pop up drive into a headwind that knocked it down into the fairway bunker. What followed was a “why the heck not” 5w to the green and draining a slow, downhill, trickling 43’ putt. Boom! 🦅

Sunday’s started with a smooth, high fairway finder and followed with the purest 4i I’ve ever hit. Hit & sat 10” from albatross glory; most upset I’ve ever been with a tap-in 🦅! 😅
