JohnSmalls
Going to throw a twist in the thread and a quick one with a little different "shot". We went trap/skeet shooting today. Took a little while to get warmed up, but managed to get in the zone about halfway through the 14 station course. Step up on the 9th or 10th platform. Have a double target thrown and nail them both with one shot. GolfSpy_SHARK
Had 2 today. Last hole with the wind howling pretty good, send a piercing drive uphill. Wind has always been difficult for me but feeling really confident adter today. Large green here and I made it to the top of the 2nd tier (back flag) and it rolled all the way back to the front of the green, my only good putt of the day 2nd was a sand shot that I still am unsure how I got it out and actually put it pretty close on a slippery green JerryB, Bang60, Rickp and 5 others 6 2 Quote Check out my reviews: G710 Irons Official Review I MC Shaft & V Series Putter Official Review 2022 Forged Tec's Official Review I Nitron Push Cart Official Review WITB: Weapons of grass destruction (link to WITB) Traverse is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green U505 Driving Iron 17* - Project X HZRDUS Black SpeedZone 4H - Project X HZRDUS Black 2022 King Forged Tec's 4-PW - KBS $ Tape 130 48 (SM8), 52 & 60 (SM7) - Nippon Modus 125 S ER2VI PROV1X #19 Are you a veteran? Stuka44
Just something I can't recall having done before. Played on Presidents Day and hit the flagstick on the fly from about 90 yards. Hit it on bounces chipping from close to the green on occasion. Didn't really help any, it bounded away to about 15 feet. I two putted for par, but hey, I hit the flagstick! richk9holes
This is from the last time I tested on Trackman. I thought it would be fun to play the Eagle Course at Wohali from the forward tees. I played this one before from the white tees and I remember wishing I could reach some of the downhill undulations from the tee with my meager drives I muster with my 160 lb. frame. It did not disappoint, as you can see my driver stats were helped quite a bit by hitting the fairways often on the back 9 where the course plays downhill. They can't take the 371 yard drive away from me, and I made sure to use 0 mulligans and finish the round so it saved in my stats. The fact the ball only flew 2/3 of the distance and rolled the rest of the way is something I can selectively include/exclude in the story. thadeuce
Mine was on a short par 5. I as playing with someone from Germany as a favor for the person he was visiting. He was a newbie so I was giving him some general golf tips. I hit driver to the right rough leaving me with 163 yds to a front right pin. I told him that since the pin was in the front and the rough would make it hard to spin the ball, I was gonna play something that would go past the flag when hit well and just to the front if not. I hit a 7i and watched it knuckle a bit and explained that it should be fine. I turned away and he said "Oh my God! It went in!" I turned and didn't see the ball and thought he was messing with me. I thought it had rolled over the green or just off behind a bunker. Go to the hole and lo and behold...an albatross. gingerbeast87, GolfSpy_SHARK, JerryB and 3 others 4
homerun3
Tee shot went significantly left just past a stand of trees on a 360 yard par 4. I was on the wrong side of the trees but only one tree was between me and the pin, about 110 out. I could see the green but the tree blocked my view of the pin. Over the tree was not an option, so I hit a knock down 7 below the branches. My playing partners were howling but I couldn’t see the results. I got to the green and there was my ball, about 4 feet past the pin. Knocked it down for a bird. That one will live forever in my memory. gingerbeast87
I'm a high handicap player (not been playing long). Recently did a society event day at the St Pierre golf course in Chepstow (first time playing there). 12th hole is my best of the day (530 yards dog leg left, stroke index 4). Hit it left of the tee with the driver and it went straight through a tree and landed in the rough. Took the 3 wood out of the rough and landed next to the 150 yard marker. Third shot with the 7 iron and landed on the green, two taps on the green for a par score. With my handicap taken in gave me the best point score of my day. StateOfMyArt
Played my first round yesterday here in White Rock BC at the Hills at the Portal GC. Nice cool sunny day. I should have hit the driving range before heading out, but nice days are rare here this time of year so I said to heck with it, let's just go and play. I went solo and was teamed with 3 lovely ladies - no pressure - who played 'not bad'. The front 9 I played pretty awful carding a 56 as my muscle memory had taken the last 4 months off. But then it came together on the back 9. Mr. Hyde took over from Dr. Jekyll and proceeded to shoot 4 pars, coming in with a 42. Putting lights out with 31 putts really made the round. So not just one shot - though there were several that made me smile - but coming back from a terrible front to a magical back was pretty cool. Looking forward to my next round to see if I can keep it going. gingerbeast87, JerryB and MattF

rob61
The second year of me playing golf I had started the new season by practicing 3-4 days a week. On the first hole of the season I took a 9! At the tee box of the second hole I was livid and throwing a hissy fit. One of the guys in my group pulled me aside and told me the funniest blonde joke I ever heard. As I stepped to the tee I was still smiling from the joke. Par 3 145yards. I took my 8 iron and hit it pure but everyone thought it landed short. Well, It did not land short it landed it the HOLE! yep my first hole in one right after a mess of a first hole and a blonde joke. The crazy thing is that 15 years later at a different course I got my second hole in one at a different course but the same yardage (145yds) and with another 8 iron. I love this game! richk9holes
Par 5 #2 at Mercer Oaks, hit a conservative tee shot, had 258 yards to the middle decided to wait for the green to clear with wind at my back and glad I did, it landed where the 3 people not putting were standing and rolled to the middle. Pretty sure the people I was playing with were chuckling at my delay after seeing my 190yd drive, but that 17° off the ground is a real monster for me. richk9holes
Gambler Ridge par 5 #16. Perfect drive then topped a 4w from 245y. Walked up to a 163y shot angry at myself and further perturbed by the cross wind meaning the club I want in that spot is expected to arrive UPS in 2 days, but I don't have it yet. Danger behind the hole took hybrids off the menu. I walked up with my 6i and stroked it to 18' past the hole. Not my shot of the day because of proximity to the hole, score 2 putted for par isn't exciting. What excites me is I hit that 6i into a crosswind the distance I should be carrying that club, even though I was confident walking up I was destined to land 20y short.
