Daryl9378
Had a great hole yesterday!!! My longest drive to date. A long Par 3 for my usual course of 230yrds. Manage to line up perfectly on the Tee box and Drive the ball perfectly to the fairway just before the green and rolled up nicely for a one tap put of 1yrd for a Birdie. Great little par 3 for me as I normally get phased by the car park on the right and the clubhouse just behind the green. redscootergolfing
Mine was from last week but only posting now since I just joined the forum: On the first hole for a tee time I barely made it to, at Bartley Cavanaugh, the hole is a straight and narrow layout. I slice my drive into the middle of the 10th hole fairway about 110y away from the 1st hole green with a ton of trees in the way. Pulled out my PW and skyed my second shot over the trees landing about 3 feet away from the hole and the ball decided to spin into the cup for an Eagle (my first of the year)! I was only able to film the after math which can be seen here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4o--NArv1N/?igsh=NzBmMjdhZWRiYQ== Syks7 and BallsLeon 2 Quote - Vaughn Currently Driving- Driver/3 Wood/4 Hybrid: Cobra Aerojet Irons: Takomo 101 Wedges: Takomo Skyforgers Putter: Sub 70 005 Bag: Sunday El Camino Ball: Maxfli Tour X

knightsofnii
Did some range time and played 4 holes due to time. So I played 1-3 and then 9. Nothing great. I'm shanking my long irons, heeling my driver. But on hole 9 I played 2 balls because I badly pulled one off the tee. First ball was way left and far back so I laid up to my favorite yardage, to the number: it was with a PW, downhill lie. Not perfect contact but the ballflight I envisioned and about 130yds. Ball #2 approach shot was with 9i. Felt like perfect contact. Looked perfect then just flopped out of the air 1ft short of the green, only flew 122yds. Still loved the shot. For my first day since October I can't complain about yardages. Back to ball 1. 78 yds to pin. My 50deg choked half way with an easy but assertive swing carries 75yds. I pulled it but nailed the distance. Perfect contact just 1-2° left . It hit and rolled to pin high about 10ft left. Those were my shots of the day. We won't get into how those putts went. As far as spanking ughhh autocorrect...shanking the long clubs, I'll work it out. ParFore74x
Finally!!! Hole of the day for me was the par 4 13th playing around 390 yards today. Tee shot is over a small pond and blind to the landing zone where the fairway slopes from left to right. Tee shot was 248 yards into a 10 mph wind with just a touch of a cut and ended up making the fairway with a pretty decent lie. That left me around 135 yards to the center of the green which was perfect for my 9 iron into the wind. Ball mark was at 133 yards and then the ball rolled 20 feet to the back left. First putt was 25 feet with a touch of downhill and the ball was online and rolling well stopping less than six inches to the left of the hole for a tap in par. Seems pretty textbook but, this hole has been my nemesis on this course for years. It was the only hole remaining that I had never had a par or better until today which gives me that “I accomplished something today” feeling. tdroma98, unccross, ejgaudette and 1 other 2 2 Quote TSi3 10° w/ Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black 65g TS2 15° 3W w/ Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.0 70g 818 H1 21° Hybrid w/ Mitsubishi Tensei CK Blue 70g MP-18 MMC 2 iron w/ KBS Tour C-Taper S 120g JPX 921 HM 5-GW w/ Project X LZ 5.5 115g JB Forged 54° & 58° w/ Project X LZ 6.0 120g EV5.3 Black

VernL4
I would consider this my hole of the day (March 29, 2024). I shot par on a par 5! This is a big deal for me because I'm not a long hitter. The woods along the right side of the hole have swallowed many of my balls over the years. I kept out of the woods this time. I actually spent most of my time on the fairway. In hindsight, I probably could have hit the 3 wood again for the approach onto the green, but it was downhill with the wind and I did not want to go past the green into the woods, so I went with the 5 wood. tdroma98, NubianRugby, ILMgolfnut and 1 other 3 1 Quote M6 clubs in the bag and a GARMIN Fenix 7 on the wrist! Wheelieb
Played the Deer Run course today in Newport News. Was just moseying along playing whack and go find. I got to hole 9 and duffed my 7 wood into a tree which gave me a side-ish hill lie. No problem, still had a little over 200 to the green and proceeded to top my 5 iron to about 113 yards. Super stoked about this. Feeling defeated I took my 54 degree wedge hit this beautiful straight shot from the rough and watched it dunk into the hole. I’m pretty sure there are easier ways to make birdie than that. sirchunksalot, ILMgolfnut, tdroma98 and 1 other 3 1 Quote Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Max 9* with Tensei AV Blue 55 PXG 5 and 7 woods with Mitsubishi Diamana Shafts Mizuno Pro 225 5-GW with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts Taylormade Hi-Toe 54 and 58 degree wedges Ping Prime Tyne
sirchunksalot
I meant to post this to yesterday, but my hole of the day was my first. I got to go off on the back 9 which immediately starts me off on my least favorite hole on my course, the par 4 10th. I hit a heely cut on my drive then pulled 8 iron from about 125 from the flag. I pulled it a bit and ended up short right on the green and then proceeded to two putt for the par. It's only the second time I've made par on this hole and the first was from the forward tees. ILMgolfnut
Played two rounds at The Cradle at Pinehurst the other day, the 9-hole par 3 loop. My second time around #8 (scorecard yardage 80, slightly uphill), I hit a pitch and run with my PW that tracked up onto the green and straight toward the pin. It looked like it was very close to hitting the pin but didn't and stopped a few feet behind the cup. A gentleman who was sitting in a wooden chair behind the green enjoying a beverage informed me that the ball went right over the edge of the hole. chisag
... Had a good day yesterday but lipped out 3 birdie putts. Hit most everything pretty solid with the exception of the par 3 #16 measuring 189 to the pin. Only really bad swing of the day hitting a 4 iron thin, not getting above 8 feet and landing 50yds short of the green but ran up onto the right fringe. We were playing behind a college tourney so the group behind always joined us on the tee as the college kids were s-l-o-w. One guy says "Great miss. I wish my misses were that good" So after 3 lip out birdies from around 8-10 feet I rolled in the 25 footer from the fringe. Guy catches up to us on the 17th tee and says "You weren't happy but I told you it was a good miss, nice birdie". This game is always entertaining ain't it? Golf2Much
After starting with two pars on the first three holes I was feeling pretty good. The rest of the front was pretty bad as I shot +9 at the turn. I proceeded to par 10 and 11 (second hardest hole) and confidence was returning. On the par four 12th hole I pulled my drive into the water on the left. After dropping I was 152 yards away from a front pin placement with a significant false front. I hit my 7 wood, ran it up within 18 inches and made the putt. Probably didn't deserve a par, but it makes up for all those times I did and didn't! The next hole is a par 3, playing 158 yards with the wind. I hit a great 7 iron (better to be short than long here) but landed between the green and left side bunkers. I pulled out my gap wedge and holed it out. With that birdie, I earned the fake WWE Championship Belt my teammate had. Anyone who gets a birdie gets to have his/her picture taken with the belt (which he keeps in his golf bag) and gets to hang it on their bag until the next birdie. I pared the next hole and bogeyed the 15th to sit at even par after six holes on the back and stepped up to the 18th handicap par 3. Reality came back to bite me. I doubled the easiest hole (easy when you dump your first tee shot in the water) and bogeyed 17 and 18. Thirty-nine on the back for me is a good score and it helped save today's overall round. RoyN
2v2 Scramble today. 2nd hole hit a near perfect drive cutting the corner on a slight dog leg left. Partner is a notorious hooker(sorry I couldn't resist) and had a case of the rights today. 2nd shot into a tucked green surrounded by waterfall and stream down the leftside and cutting across the front, leading into a lake that goes up the front right on the green. Front flag with not much room for error. Partner shanks a wedge into the lake. My 2nd shot comes up short and although it barely cleared the mouth of the stream, it rolled back into the water. We drop where my ball last crossed in some light rough at the end of the fairway. We are about 40 yards from a front flag and have to clear the stream and weeds, with limited landing space between the front of the green and the pin. Partner hits a ok shot and puts us maybe 15ft away for a decent putt. Did my normal routine for chipping and tried to get a feel of the turf inaction. Clipped it clean with perfect feel and saw it was headed straight at the flag. While in the air, I heard the other team who was on the green say that looks good as it came down. "Click". Slam dunk. Straight into the hole between the front of the cup and pin. Pin didn't even move. I was in shock for a moment because I saw it come down but when the ball just disappeared I froze. My partners cheering snapped me out of it. Other team was just as thrilled. We have seen hole outs but never a such a clean dunk. Long hole out of my life. The scorecard reads par but how we got there made it even sweeter. FIR, 2nd shots into water, drop and chip in, no putts. Shot of the day and shot of my life. knightsofnii
On Friday I hit this 9i a touch thin but it went nearly the correct distance. Closest I've been to an ace. Today's goal was swing easy and take more club. It worked some of the time, like on hole 2: Yep thats a dead center strike. Time to retire. Funny thing is it flew less than 180yds. Uphill into wind. 6i got me the green but I 3putted Then all went kaput until hole 9. The tees are usually to the right of 8 green and farther back. Sometimes they use a tee to the left that is forward and eliminates the dogleg, and it's 230something center green. 215-225 to carry a stream. I caught one that faded just the tiniest bit then drew back as the sidewind corrected it, straight at the pin. When I got to the green I noticed it thumped into the upslop e of the front of the green and stopped dead. Yea, I'm him... the guy who drives the green then uses all 3 putts to par.
