TR1PTIK
Shot of the day Sunday: Missed my drive wide right on a par 4. With 99 yards to the stick I hit a 54* Wedge from native grass to 3' for birdie. Shot of the day Monday: This one's a bit more difficult... It's a toss-up between 3 shots. #1 was a long right-to-left birdie putt (we're talking 40' or more!) for birdie. #2 was 8-iron from 164 to within 5' for another birdie. #3 was a chip in from in front of and below the putting surface to a back pin to save bogie after losing my tee ball on a par 3. Golfspy_CG2
Played in a charity scramble yesterday, The Worlds Largest Golf Outing-sponsored by our company, all 140 of our courses plus some even outside our management joined in to raise funds for Fisher House...a wonderful organization if you're not familiar with them. Anyway, it's a scramble so really nothing other than the money raised is important. But anyone who has followed the PING Long Game Testing thread knows, I'm in love with my wood. So the first hole presented my "moment of glory" A par 5 that measure about 521. We had 179 into the green. I pured my 7 wood and hit the middle right of the green, to a middle pin. All 3 of my playing partners, 1 who plays in college and who routinely drove it over 300 yards, and two single digit guys , left their 6 irons short. I kinda had to smile after all four of us hit, and said...hey the old man in the group has your backs...not to worry! I did make a few more putts of importance, but most of the day I spent observing from the tee watching those guys...ha golfertrb, Rickp, Kenny B and 2 others 5 Quote G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number

BIG STU
LOL 2 Sundays ago now---- I was playing some of my vintage stuff for kicks and giggles in this case a set of 1957 Macgregor Diamondback irons and matching persimmon woods. I had been coming up somewhat short all day. Now when I play vintage golf I do not use a rangefinder. I was also playing on my home course Indian Wells and I know all the yardages by heart. Our 10th hole is a layup par 4 with a creek in front. I say lay up unless you are a super hitter. Anyhow I laid up with the 2 iron off the tee right where I wanted it. I had about 138 or so to a tucked pin behind the trap. Normally for me with either the Machogans or the more modern KZGs ( both are same lofts) that is a 8 iron. I told my buddy who was playing with me I had been coming up short all day so I was going to get aggressive. I pulled the 7 iron and flushed it over the top of the stick. I figured I went over because on that pin placement you can not see below 2 foot of the flag. We pulled up to the green and no ball. I told my buddy I must have really nutted that 7 iron. He looked and it was in the hole. No ball mark so I must have canned it for a 2. BIG STU
I will add that even with the semi-modern stuff I have been playing very aggressive lately. My buddy in Texas who is an ex PGA Tour pro has been helping me some by me talking to him and sending him videos. He knows my game from the old days--- He has gotten me playing aggressively again while using my brain. MomoMan83
Every Thursday a group of people from work play a scramble after hours. I played a couple of weeks ago, one group had 4 and my group had 3 so my team rotated a shot to even it up. I had the rotating shot on a par 3, I think it was maybe about 140 yards. I typically struggle teeing off on par 3's, usually topping the ball and it goes nowhere or into whatever creek happens to be in front of me. I hit first and I hit my 7 iron high and dead straight and it rolled out to within 2 or 3 feet of the hole. Since I had the rotating shot I also hit 4th and it was an almost identical shot to the first one. Only problem is none of us could putt and what should have been an easy birdie ended up as par. sirchunksalot
The last one, the one that ended my round and put me out of my misery. Coming in a close second was the 47 foot putt I sank on the 17th for a double on a par 4. Hit driver ob then hit my six iron ob hit a bad chip which left me with a very long putt. Our 4 th hole is like that and what really makes it hard is if the wind is in your face off the ocean. Even from the senior tees now I have hit everything from a 6 iron to a 15* 4 wood on it. Several ways I play it. If the wind is down and I hit a good drive it can be a 23* hybrid or a 6 iron. If the wind is in my face it can be a 2 iron and try to run it up. If it is wet and the wind blowing then it is a lay up for me to 100 110 yards. Sluggo42
I had a five iron, and the next hole a 6 iron to within 8 feet on both. Beautiful little draws that were perfectly struck. missed both putts.. LOL sounds like my putting--- As good as my ballstriking has been lately my buddy Bear says if I get back to putting like I used to I will be very dangerous. Got an blast from the past in the bag for today a old TM Rosa Daytona that came out of the lake on our 13th hole. LOL I was playing with one of our assistant pros one day. He likes to fish too. On 13 he threw some kind of lure in with a treble hook. I think he called it a bottom runner ( I ain't a fisherman). He hollered he had hit something big. It was that Daytona rusted shaft and rotten grip. Threw it on the basket and took it home cleaned it up and reshafted it. I putted pretty well with it then got on the Scotty band wagon after finding 2 of them on the pile at work. Forgot about that Daytona until I was rummaging around in the shop Monday. I found it pulled it out and cleaned it up some. Sat good to me. So WTH I can't putt anyhow so I will try it. Can't putt any worse with it than my Bullseye or any other putter I own. BTW that old putter shakes every time I get around the 13th hole. Have to tell it calm down baby. I nicknamed that putter "Resurrection" ( no irreverence intended) Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee. Sluggo42
Haha my putting was actually great that day, lag putts were killer and did make a few, just seemed to barely miss all the birdies. A few lipped, one inch short, etc... but the old evnroll is great Rickp and MattF 2 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes
