russtopherb
Par 4, 18th hole at Pine Hills. I hit my drive up the left side, and wanting to avoid water further up on the left, hit my 5i well to the right and in some trees. Nothing too bad, but I knew I had to go low to avoid branches. I hit a punch 7i that smacked the pin and landed 1" from the cup. One of our playing partners then chipped up, clipped my ball, and ended up in the hole. I still got the par! pulledabill
Hole #8 is a par 5 dog leg left which is not reachable for me. 3h to center of fairway then the plan was to draw a 7i around the corner leaving a wedge in. Problem is it didnt draw and ende up in a bunker 115 out with trees between me and the stick. Grabbed a wedge and went through a shot checklist with standing tall being the important on this shot. Stuck it to 10' which leftme estatic as I was on a run of 7 pars at that time. robertana.c.3
This hole cuts hard left at the end. Where u see bunker far in the distance it cuts 90 degrees left about 30 yards and up a hill to a plateau for the green. My tee off I hit it on left side. I decided to chance it and cut the trees. Worked out and landed a chip away on the left side of green. Personally I was amazed it worked out that well. bens197, MattF, Rickp and 1 other

downlowkey
Push fade 4-iron took a bad bounce just right of the surface, followed by a worse bounce. Came to rest 35 yards right of the hole - in bounds but a really nasty lie of thick St. Augustine creeping in from someone’s backyard. Short sided, so speed + loft was the only real option, but comes with a high tariff when you’re dealing with that sort of healthy running grass. Took a big swipe, came out high and soft with some spin and rolled in the center like a putt. Happy it found the cup - never want to hit that shot again. Eagle (3) - Thank you very little. robertana.c.3
More a story but...Playing Stableford. Slightly down in score. Last hole. Really dark. Darker than pic (lightened it up to see hole in pic. Hole right to left). We can’t really see other side. Leader puts ball on edge of green. My buddy who is out already puts it on green. I am short bottom right. I chip on to 5 feet of pin. Leader putts and is short about 7 feet. My buddy out. If I get it in and he doesn’t we tie. If he gets it in he wins. I’m up first. I put it in. CarlH
My shot of the day (yesterday) was a breaking putt about 5 feet on one of our tougher putting holes on the 27 hole course, well known for ruining rounds. The green slopes fairly steeply from back to front and is fast and caused many a 3 putt and worse when you're above or to the side of the hole. What made this special was my teammate had just chipped in for birdie, then remarks for me to go ahead and drain the putt to tie his birdie and that he didn't care about the skin. Well, as soon as he heard the plunk of the ball hitting the bottom of the cup, he exclaimed "I was only kidding! I wanted the skin!". We both laughed. (But I stoked on that hole and he didn't, so I tied the gross skin with him, but won the net skin). pulledabill
The end result wasnt what I was looking, but the execution of the was spot on minus club selection. Had a 126y to the stick out of a fairway bunker. Over a tall tree and a greenside bunker as well. Took 9i which I figured if I hit it well would be too much. Wanted to get it to the though. Stood tall with no fear and ripped it. It was too much and landed a couple yards long, rolled off, then down the slope. It made this my shot of of the day waas that two years ago I would have had a high % to leave it in the bunker or chunk it out halfway to my target. Two years ago many of my rounds were spent on an empty course while solo. I took the opurtunity to play 2-3 shots from bunkers, weird lies, chips, and most any shot I felt like I needed work on. pulledabill
Playing back 9 tonight, I went in to 16 even par. 270 dog leg right. Toed my 5w down right tree line. Tough to find the green in from there. Found ball sitting up in the tree line but tall spruce in the way. 112 to stick. 58 wedge would clear the tree, but would be short. 54 might clear but still short. 51 degree was the club in the cold but didnt think Id make the tree. Safe play was punch out, hit the 58 and give myself a putt. I pulled the 51, aimed a little right which was the peak of the tree, and played it up front. Took a full swing and really threw he hands through the ball. To my amazement I cleared the tree but lost it on the way down. I did hear "thump" so It hit the green but where. Found it flag high 8 feet away but missed the birdie putt. Probably my best wedge shot to be honest.
