I don't know whether to be happy or sad, great shot with the 9 iron and try not to think annoy the putt. Getting it that close from 145 is a heckuva shot!

Yeah my short putting and putting in general is no good right now.

Going to try a putting online lesson from Potters Putting (Marcus Potters).

It's amazing how the closer you get to the hole, the more it can mess with you. I hope the putting lesson helps, I think of you can get it straightened out you'll be rocking some good scores in no time.

Shot of todays round was just a simple flop shot out of absolute crap patch grass, over an alligator filled lava river onto a 2 sq ft landing pad, that would fall off the side of the planet if hit a foot too long. I was so amazed that it worked that I dropped another ball and did it again. Probably couldn't hit that shot again in one hundred tries.

Definitely had a great recovery shot.

Dog leg left with trees lining the fairway so it’s hard to cut the corner unless you have a very high ball flight. I kind of fanned my driver out to the right off the toe but stayed in the fairway luckily. Decided If I hit a pure 7 wood it would get there and if not it’ll leave me short. Well I roped the shot and it bounced just short and hopped up and rolled to about 2-3’ and I knocked it in for birdie.

So I played a loop (downlowkey term I’ve adopted) today with some old work mates and one of them is putting with this bad boy... I tried it and it was easy to aim obviously. He told me I could have it for $60, as that way at he had in it. Seems the going rate on eBay too.

its just odd that I’ve turned into such a serious fanboy of Hogan stix, that this thing shows up. Not sure I’ll be able to resist for too long...

two back to back “shots of the day” made for my hole of the day on number 9

short par 4, 396. striped a driver 341 down the right side of the fairway. that left me with a 55 yard chip to a slightly elevated green. made good contact on a little lob with a 60*, landed a few feet short and got some roll.

then i heard the words we all love to hear...”you don’t need your putter!” ball cozied up about 6” from the hole for a tap in birdie

Closest I've ever come

Short par 3 at my course. #17 at Springfield. Played 135 yds today. It's tricky though because you must land the green because it drops down on all sides and is lined by trees all on the right. Elevated tee and elevated green with a stone wall that piles right up to the front of the green.

I'm hoping to have more of these and eventually an ace by year's end. These Maltby TS-1's are hands down the finest clubs I've ever played!

I've been playing golf for quite a while and have done a few different things on the course but last weekend I did something that I never thought I'd do.

I was on a par 4 and I hit my tee shot and it hit a tree about 150 yards out and fell right below.

The ball was in medium rough but wasn't buried. Pin was 255 yards away according to my rangefinder.

I have a Cobra F7 3 wood with the rails on the bottom and figured that I might as well try to advance it as far as I could; besides, the rails are supposed to help gouge it out of the rough.
Made a good swing and hit it pretty straight but I didn't see where it ended up.

My buddy was on the green and I'm looking about 50 yards away and I can't find the ball.

Yep... you guessed it. He points to the cup.

An eagle on a Par 4 from 255 with a 3 wood after a bad tee shot that I didn't even get to see go in.... HA!

Had a few candidates for my shot of the day today each had their reasons. One was a par 4 kept trying to hit my driving iron well didn't off of the tee, stinger, but it got me to the area I needed to be 170 out but severely up hill hit the driving iron again and landed just shy of the green(4 club will). That was a potential because I finally hit the driving iron well.

The next possible was I was on a par 3 hitting my iron shot and just as I was hitting the shot a cart accident nearly happened behind me and I hit a poor shot then went back and rehit my tee shot. Finally hit a good iron shot and one hopped my 8i wasn't getting any spin today which is very abnormal for me.

20200915_124014.jpg

The definite shot of the day was a 4i punch out from trees and it landed just short of the green and hopped on. Landed to under 20 feet from the flag. That was awesome because it was pretty much jail.

HA!

Awesome... Didn't't get to see it go in... gahhh

the cobras got me on a couple of the par 5's in two today, but missed the eagle putts...

The Icons were nasty with a couple kick in birds.

This drive, I just plain don’t hit it that far (or haven’t in a really long time at least not without significant help)
IMG_1064.JPG

Pushed the hybrid approach a bit, so not on in two, but got up and down for the birdie.

Had a similar shot last time I played just hit the ball so much longer than normal. Of course pulled the next one into the trees, just to even things out.
