BADFanBoi Scotty
Snuck out to the local 9 hole course (Not my home club) that is in town after school. Half a dozen Year 7 students taking a shortcut through the golf course on the way to footy training. They recognise me and start yelling out at me to hit the ball. 100m out, stick the ball 5m past the flag, spits out of the green (I could say spins back, but more likely it didn't) and rolls to one foot in front of the pin. bens197
There wasn’t anything Herculean about today. On any other day we’d expect to hit a good shot here so it’s the hole that makes this one special for me. 3 wood with a nice soft draw leaving 151 to a front right pin. My tee ball plugged so once I cleaned it up I took a moment to admire a great shot to commemorate a mediocre round. sixcat
Par 5 #14 at my home club is 507 yards. Standing on the tee, you can't see the landing area. A steady incline goes up some 30 feet in elevation from the tee for the first 150 yards, then drops back down about 90 feet into the swale. There, you will find a "mogul" that rises about 20 feet and is 80 yards wide from base to base. The mogul will not allow your ball much rollout if you land anywhere short or into the face. It limits any drive to 270 yards max. The ball will roll up the mogul a little before coming back down into the swale. But if you can catch the back side of that mogul (around a 310 yard carry) the ball will bound down the fairway like a banshee. Of the thousands of times I have played #14, I have only managed to pull it off once about 10 years ago. With a helping breeze of about 15 MPH, I accomplished this again last night. I hit a PW into the green for my second from 121 yards. ncwoz, Vegan_Golfer_PNW, Rickp and 2 others

PMookie
I’m posting two. First was on 17, par 3, over water to an elevated green, wind at my back helping 6 yards. 197 to the center, so I hit 6 iron. Boom. Hit it to 9 feet. Burned the lip for bird... Next was my approach on the par 5 18th. I’ll post the Arccos Caddie distance that accounts for the wind. Hit it to 3 1/2 feet! Just pured a 9 iron, the ball was on the pin the whole way. Felt so good to end the round with birdie, par, birdie, and have two great shots on 17/18! ncwoz
Two shots of the day for me, one from league Thursday, and one from this morning. On the par 5 14th, a solid long drive that leaked just a hair right left me with about 195yds from a front pin. There's two large tiers to the green, the lower portion in the front guarded by bunkers right and left. There's also a pond short left that has a knack of collecting balls as well, so unless I have a really great drive I'm usually laying up this hole. However, I had a perched up flier lie and decided to crank a 6 and see what happened...landed about 4 feet from the pin, and then the bowl brought it back to 3 feet from the cup! Knocked in the Eagle putt with a grin on my face the whole time! And then this morning, had another par 5 with wind off the right and I think also helping a bit. Absolutely cranked a drive; I'm not sure if I ever have (or even could) have a better strike! Landed just far enough to get to a downslope and run out a while, ended up coming to rest 348yds away. If this is what the new Cobra has in store, I think it's going to be a great summer! knightsofnii
Hit a decent drive just shy of a ditch. Arccos was off a little. The approach was 172-174 on the Bushnell, with a tree hanging over the left. I hit a nasty 6i draw around the tree to 3ft. I was just hoping for it to come up short inbounds but I got all of it and it made the turn like I asked it to. Kenny B
Par 5 #18 dogleg left around a big tree and the pump house. Decent drive into a 15 mph wind; not a good second shot, but still in the fairway after a fortunate bounce. My 3rd shot was an 8i all carry over sand; I would normally use my 9i for the distance, but it always seems like it plays longer than the yardage and I end up in the sand a lot... and it was into the wind. I struck the 8i nicely, and it seemed that the wind suddenly died or changed direction. The ball landed on the back of the green by the pin position, hopped and disappeared off the back. There is a pot bunker back there, and I was in it. Hit my 60º perfectly; ball flew up over the lip; landed on the green; and rolled into the hole for a no-putt birdie. The crowd roared. I tipped my hat ala Phil... #TourSauce MattF, Vegan_Golfer_PNW and GolfSpy_SHARK 3 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

golfish!
345 yard downhill dogleg left from an elevated tee box that then goes back uphill to the green from the landing zone. Started hitting a draw with my driver lately so I aimed at the fairway bunker on the right side of the fairway. Hit a perfect draw that went around the corner and left me 70 yards uphill to the flag. Chunked it and had to get on in 3 with a 2 putt for bogey but never played this hole that way. juspoole
Played a couple rounds over the past few days. My approach shots in general were the best they've been in probably 2 years. I can't remember hitting that many at the pin in quite a while. I hit 14 and 12 greens over the past couple rounds with the majority of looks being 20 feet or less. Three shots that were around 5 feet and one that was a 6 inch tap in (all were 100 yard or less approaches). Lastly I had 3 shots that stand out - One from 220 that I hit to 15 feet with my 3 hybrid and two others where I had 210 and hit great 4 irons (new Srixon ZX Utility) that also came to around 15 - 20 feet. pulledabill
Ive been working my tail off on a new swing and lucky enough to get free range balls to do so. Yesterday I had two back to back 5i where I had to work the ball. 1st was on a par 5 and I had about 190 to stick. Kind of between clubs so I played a draw to to get a few extra yards. Stuck it pin high at 12'. Missed eagle putt. Very next hole I hit a bad tee shot right that left me 180 to pin with a tree blocking my line. Decided to play 5i cut with a slight left to right wind. Ended pin high at 10' and made birdie. As bad as my game had been the past year, these shots were a big deal to me. Major confidence booster. ncwoz
Got behind some trees with my tee shot on a par 5 today, which left me about 205 to the green, hurting and off the left. The only shot I had without curvature would have been about a 100 yard shot to a very small portion of the fairway. I decided to play a big cut around the tree in front of me to try and get it somewhere in front of the green. If I would have hit it straight on my starting line (red arrow), I probably would have been wet or potentially even OB. Gave it a swat, and it rode the wind perfectly, just in front of the green (Pink line showing bird's eye ball path)!! gavinski91, sirchunksalot, Tom the Golf Nut and 2 others 5 Quote Right Handed Driver: 9° Speedzone (HZRDUS Smoke Green 70g X-Stiff shaft) 2 Hybrid: 18° Exotics EXS Pro (Evenflow Black 6.5) (2020 MGS Official Review here) 3/Driving Iron: 18° UiHi Iron (MMT Utility TX 105g shaft) Irons: 4-GW T100 irons (Nippon Modus 120 X-Stiff shafts) (2021 MGS Official Review here) Wedges: 54° & 58° TSW Forged (Dynamic Gold S300) Putter: ER2B (2019 MGS Official Review here) Ball: MAXFLI Tour X Bag: Hoofer Lite WITB thread here
GolfSpy BOS
Had two shots today that stood out to me as potentials beats of the day. The first was my drive on 1. 298 yard left center of the fairway. It led to my first, and only converted birdie on the day. The second one was a 57 yard wedge from the rough after taking a penalty. I knocked it to an easy 2-3 footer to save par. I liked this one a lot because you can’t really see the green behind the bunker. Those shots always make me uneasy. ncwoz, bens197, MattF and 1 other 4 Quote Epic Max LS 10.5 - Motore X F3 6X | Speedzone 5-wood - Ventus Blue 8S | TSi3 20* Hybrid - KBS Proto 85S SMS Pro 4-PW - Steelfiber i110S | MG3 Raw Black 50.09, 54.11, 58.11 - DG TI S200 ER2B | Pro V1x | NX9 Slope | Jones Trouper R | CaddyLite EZ v8
GolfSpy_SHARK
Nothing to write home about. Today the best shot was my first good shot. Had to remind myself nice and easy. Pured an easy 6 iron. Put myself in a spot to clean up a very poor round. dlow206
Nothing too memorable. Best shot was from 60 yards out. Ball was lying between two trees, but there was space to go in between. Had a flat lie, but on a hill above the green. Couldn't risk hitting it too high or else might catch some branches. Went pitching wedge, low punchy runner. The ball did pretty much what I envisioned it should do, came out low, hit the fairway, rolled onto the green. fozcycle
Hole #4 at Pebble Creek is a Par 4, 323 yards for Seniors. It is the #1 Handicap hole. I had a nice drive, then put my approach shot in the green side bunker. This bunker is a deep bunker when I stand at my ball I cannot see the hole. I opened my 58* Zipcore and thought, it is a high bunker so I must have a complete follow through. Then I executed the shot. The ball flew out of the bunker landing just short of the front hole location then lipped out of the hole stopping 1 inch from the cup on the backside. Easily tapped in for par. sirchunksalot, TBT, MattF and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: 0311 XF 10.5* w/Project X Cypher 40 gram Senior shaft or 0811 XF 12* w/Evenflo Riptide CB Senior shaft Fairways: 0211 5W & 7W w/ Evenflo Riptide CB regular shaft and Tour Edge E521 9W w/Fubuki HD50 regular shaft Hybrid: None in bag at the moment Irons: Titleist T300 5-PW w/Fubuki MV Senior graphite shafts w/Golf Pride Tour Wedges: Edison forged 49*, 53* and 57* wedges with KB PGI Senior shafts(80 grm).
