What was your Shot of the Day?

Recommended Posts

I had 3 yesterday 1 putt and 2 drives...I can't pick one over the others but if I really had to, it'd be the putt.

The first is a 281 yard drive straight down the middle of #11.

The next was on the same hole. 77' putt for my only birdie of the day.

The last was another 281 yard drive straight down 15.

I hit two shots today that stick out in my mind - on the 5th hole I missed the fairway to the right - I'm only off the fairway a yard or so but I have to hit a low fade because I have a tree in front of me. I had 178 which is a good 6 iron for me but because I had it hit a low fade, I took a five iron. I came up just short on the front fringe and was able to get up and down which kept my round going. The other was a 50* wedge from 106 yards into the breeze  on my 25th hole:

About 165 yard par 3 the other day .... nearly had my 7th Ace ... rolled right past the hole.  Did make it for birdie too!

Had a clean 6 iron from 160 over water to ensure a par on one of the tougher holes...

20 yard chip-in.

I hit it 40 (😬) feet too hard, but it hit the stick dead center and dropped in for my only birdie of the day.

My drive on #10 today. A par 5, dead straight, dead flat, and the fairway was HARD! Longest recorded drive of my life, and this was the first time being inside 150 on the 500+ yard hole. The Veylix Mansion/G400 LST is a BEAST of a combination! I played with a former player of mine from when I coached golf years ago. He couldn’t believe how far I hit it!

Two great shots on one hole this morning.

Big drive for me that settled on left side of fairway. Green plays uphill, laser told me to play 150 to pin in front tucked behind bunker. Started a very smooth 8 iron just right of pin, drew right to it and landed softly on front fringe before rolling out to here.

Missed the birdie putt, though. The picture doesn't show it, but there was a good 8-10 inches of break in that four foot putt.

My tee shot left me in the right rough with a tall pine and an oak blocking a direct shot to the green, 150 yards out.  Took one extra club and set up for a fade, aimed left and struck a clean shot that bent around the offending trees and sailed toward the green.  Ball came to rest 8 feet below the pin.  Left the putt about an inch short of dead center.  Tap in par.

Any ball that finds dry land on 16 at my club is a round saver.

180 to back pin into a breeze hit 7 wood to the back fringe - 183 per shot scope.

Just played the type of boring golf that I like 12/14 fairways, 10 greens, 14 pars, 4 bogeys, never in any real trouble, just didn’t hole any of my 5 or 6 good looks at birdie.

Par 3 #8. Hit a 167 yard 6 iron to miss my first hole in one by about 4".

That's awesome - I don't have 310 drives or 180 7 irons anymore so there's that Great playing!

Haha cheers! Might be my stronger lofts as well as my faster swing speed. Hopefully, by this time next ear I'm gaming a set of Mizuno 919 tours😍

Shot of the day Sunday: Missed my drive wide right on a par 4. With 99 yards to the stick I hit a 54* Wedge from native grass to 3' for birdie.

Shot of the day Monday: This one's a bit more difficult... It's a toss-up between 3 shots. #1 was a long right-to-left birdie putt (we're talking 40' or more!) for birdie. #2 was 8-iron from 164 to within 5' for another birdie. #3 was a chip in from in front of and below the putting surface to a back pin to save bogie after losing my tee ball on a par 3. Votes on which you guys think was the best?

Hoping the 919 will go on a big discount because of that
