Tiger should have bought the Nike golf part of the business. Just put the TW on it all, just like the Jordan stuff. I miss seeing the Nike staffers sticks out there. I was a fan of that Bright Green color believe it or not. Was looking to make the switch to Nike equipment, then boom. No more.

 

I vote for a Nike Golf Equipment return!

That's just my point though. He brings fans to. the game, both those that have kept watching and playing *and* those that left. 

So long as he is bringing people to the game, I don't care if he succeeds or not, only what he does for the game itself.

Shanks it's nice to have your opinionated personality back. I never watched golf in the tiger hay day and I'm under 30. Since I started playing with the new guys taking over that's kinda who I pull for. Trust me I'm enjoying watching one of the best to ever play get back out there, but the down side is they showed more of him than anyone else which kinda sucked, they showed him walking when they could have shown other shots/players.

There was some stellar play out there too that only had short blurbs, with Molinari holing out from the fairway and Reed, Matsuyama putting up some low numbers too..

I hear you but the story is tiger. He was hitting some great shots so I didn't mind it much. His 31 on the front was as good as it gets. That 3 wood into 9 was off the charts ridiculous.

Agreed but not can't get too worked up. He shot 65 on Friday last year and then went to s***. The difference now is he looks fluid and his short game is looking vintage. That chip from the green was crazy good. The 2 he dipped yesterday are nothing to worry about b/c everyone is doing it. I'm stoked . Can watch golf on Sunday as the patriots kick the piss out of my Bills!

There was an episode of adventures in golf on YouTube where the host went to India. He asked a guy on the street where the golf course was. He didn't know what he was saying. He made a putting motion, still nothing. He says Tiger woods and the guy goes "oh" and points him on the right direction.

It's not that I dislike Tiger, it's just that's not all I want to hear about. When he's not around they divide airtime between the top 10 mostly, with whoever is leading getting top time. Even if you miss most of the round, all the highlights are about him.

In all seriousness golf broadcasts do kind of suck. They push their narrative instead of the actual golf and let that influence what they show.

 

I wish more of yall could see sky sports coverage. Its golf shots all over the place. Not tap ins and "just a moment ago." They need to show more golf and not just the story they want to push to us this week.

 

Everyone craps on fox us open coverage but they show more actual golf shots than NBC or CBS or ESPN or whoever. They show the golf and let the story take care of itself. Dislike joe buck or not, I prefer that way over covering it.

The story this weekend IS tiger, of course it's all about him. It's his tourney, and he is playing. And playing well.

Give the guy his dues, he hasn't been a factor for years now due to injury and other self inflicted wounds.

 

And, he isn't sucking- that's a story in itself.

 

Let him shine now because this time for sure, it is all about Tiger.

To the gentleman complaining that Tiger is receiving disproportionate air time in the tournament _he hosts_, please consider the following:

Tiger is hunting his SIXTH Hero World Challenge title.

In the golf history "currently competing" category, Tiger's playing record is double digits better than next best on the list.

Ratings (eye count over personal predilections) are the primary goal of any spectacle underwriter (Hero MotoCorp, Citi, Tiger Woods Foundation). Is this coming into focus?

It's the wraparound season and you're complaining about watching the GOAT* (possibly for the last time ever) grind his way up a leaderboard of the best in the world.

Although I don't recall anyone in the thread even considering this option; try changing the channel.

 

*My own complaint originates from the same foundation as the haters but differs in that I have been glued to the Tiger show and haven't accomplished a lick of work.
