Another morning of projects at our 'new to us' Fl condo. Cleaned out the front and side lower gutters that were filled with flint aggregate from the shingles. Then came the toilet reseal: the toilet in our master bath was wobbly and one of the bolts had completely deteriorated so took it apart and put in a new non-wax seal and new bolts. The end result was a 'thumbs up' from my wife. A nasty job but it had to get done. The afternoon was dedicated to visiting different courses we wanted to play. We've got a tee time at Cypress Creek tomorrow (a recommendation from @GregB135) and playing with friends at Esplanade - Lakewood Ranch on Thursday.

Next on the list; buying and installing a new water softener and finishing the gutters.

Played Cypress Creek this past Saturday. 14th hole was still closed after flooding from TS Eta. Other than that the course is in good shape.

I think it's the same everywhere. We're relying on our RE Agent to steer us to the right people.

Not sure what their service radius is but you might try DesignCraft Kitchen and Bath. Haven't used them myself, but one of their reps is another frequent player in one of my golf tourney groups.

We played Cypress today. #14 OMG what a tough hole! We did like the course, although the back nine wasn't as friendly to me as the front. We talked to the people at Caloosa also and playing that one next week along with Apollo. witch by is shutting down December 31st til at least October 2021.

You need a fine tooth or finishing blade. You could do it with a circular or drop saw but you'd need an 80 tooth, at a minimum.

I used a fine tooth hand saw, and it cut beautifully.  Thanks!

Noticed some water stains on the new subflooring I put in one of the rooms I'm renovating. So I go outside to re-caulk the windows and while I'm doing this I noticed the flashing moving a lot and a half inch gap between the flashing and the window. My dad was at my house so I had him come look at it and we ended up building a new window sill and I redid the flashing outside. Didn't get plumbing done like we wanted but fixing this was probably more important.

Thanks.  I must have watched a million YouTube videos.  I can pick a club and hit it fast, but I really agonized over this.  It was a ton of fun, though.  I'm super excited for the standing desk, too.  It's going to be so nice when I'm giving presentations to be able to stand up.

Day 2 into renovating my kid’s playroom and converting the loft area into a home office/tv room. Sometimes being the son of a contractor comes in handy being able to do all the work myself. So far all the carpentry in the office area is done, put new lights in my attic and almost done with paint. Unfortunately I still have to lay a new floor in the playroom on Friday.

My house is different. It's a flat roof directly above that insulation. Typically you put the vapor barrier to keep the warm zone and cold zone separate. I put it up to keep the insulation in place and if the flat roof ever leaks I'll have less water marks on my ceiling.

One last big project to finish up tonight and my kid’s game room is almost complete. The vinyl baseboard covers were crazy expensive so I decided for $100 in lumber and my limited carpentry skills to build my own. I am 2/3’s done and they don’t look half bad.

Impulsive project begins Sunday when we finish the living room with built-ins around the fireplace. They’ll mimick the family room design we completed a few years ago.  Essentially we’ll be building a twin to this.

How much did you spend doing this compared to metal? I have something similar to do in my renovations

I had roughly 22 feet of baseboard to do for the room. I bought 4 1x4s and 3 1x5s from Home Depot. Add in some angle brackets to slide in on the back over the baseboard casing and I was out the for for $108. Essentially did the entire room for about the coast of one metal panel.

And I also forgot I am putting screening on the top opening so add on $30 for a 3x3 sheet of metal screen.

I like this idea I just need to cover piping that is going in my closet so why waste the metal if I can build it and paint it to match my wall and not have to worry about it. I never thought of this thanks jMike
