The grill & chill pad finally got finished up yesterday. It's now time to do some yard work and figure out what to do with landscaping... Any green thumbs in here feel free to drop some suggestions. 😃

recommend raking that sucker out and getting some loam in. Overseed it and use 19-19-19 starter fertilizer (dont go crazy will burn the crap out of the other grass).

I usually stick with milorganite for my fert, seems to be pretty fail safe.. which I like 🤣

But yeah, I've got fertilizer and seed on deck and ready to go. I'm going to aerate and dethatch, but may have to wait until the fall.. it's starting to warm up here in MO.

Just paid a company to power wash the whole house. My wife hired them.  They show up and won't power wash this and won't power wash that - some because it would get chemicals on our outside furniture and TV and others because of hard water stains on our gutters, but they got to some spots that are just way to high for me to do even on a ladder.  What I'm not happy about is that whatever they used to clean the windows didn't really clean the windows but added a film to it so I still have to power wash parts of the house myself🤦‍♂️. I also just aerated andf seeded my lawn a few weeks ago but trying to keep all the young neighborhood kids off the lawn so the new seeds aren't getting killed by being trampled on has been an ongoing battle, LOL.

Got a little work done on my house today. Got old scraps of drywall out and into a dumpster and cleaned my property up a little. Got heating elements laid out and did a few other things to finish rooms up and get things ready so I can finish what I started 2 years ago.

Busting hump to finish up projects at the house, pictures on Tuesday and on the market Thursday next week.

had a friend over to help with some trim work, he’s a great carpenter I just helped cut 😂. Taking a break tonight (we have been sleeping on a pull out couch) and my body is fried. Did a little caulking on the trim we did (old dog chew marks and unfinished from when I did the basement renovation).

This is really nice - phase 3 of our remodel.

We went out of town for ten days and managed to have our contractor demo the master bath and bedroom wall while we were gone. So we missed that. Very thankful there.

Phase one for us was dry wall, rewire, repaint and move in to spare bedroom to get ready for this phase.

We have and will save some money because my son is an electrician - thank you US Navy.  He’s also required the master bath - waiting now for fixtures come in. After this is done they will be enlarging the entry to Penny’s room.

Phase 3 will be the backyard pad for grilling and also so that Penn can get outside in her wheelchair easily. That will be in the fall, Lord willing. A 10k car repair fiasco has set that part back a bit.

Plenty of projects going on at the new house.  I’ve changed out all but one ceiling fan, and that just arrived today.  We’re having the landscaping worked on and cleaned up, painting rooms, blah blah blah. All the normal stuff….

But most importantly, my new TV came in and I got to mount it the other day!

Updated the kids floors, painted, hung ceiling fans jn all the bedrooms of the new house.

Last night and today were demo days in the basement. Removing built ins and the rug. Floor getting done tomorrow. Uncovered a word with the built ins though…..never got sheetrocked in so the foundation is exposed and the baseboard heat line runs on the top. Going to need to case it in. Atleast it’s a half wall not a full wall? Will get a nice shelf out of it too

Just a public service announcement if you are thinking about installing a wood fence. 🤔

Use stain and not paint.  A few years from now when you want to refresh the color on the fence, if you painted than you will need to scrape the loose flakes off.  It can take a loooooong time to get it prepped for re-painting, especially if you have over 900' of fence!  😲

I'll be working for these nice folks for a few more weeks.   🤑

And they want caps on the over 100 posts too.

I appreciate the work and I like working for them as they are very nice people.  It's funny that while sanding and scraping as I finished a couple sections of fence I looked at my watch and thought "I just paid for that Accra shaft!"  🤣

But I'm not sure I would want the white paint at my house.  The neighbors farm has even more fencing but theirs is stained black and I think it actually works better because your eye is drawn toward the house and not the fence.

we also tore up the old driveway, expanded it to add a parking area, and now we’re waiting to pour new asphalt

along with that has been a ton of landscaping work. trees have come down, lots of grading, we leveled a 60x40 area for my wife to have a garden next year.

more is planned for the spring, but that’s enough for now.

Great to have you back and you sure have been busy to say the least. It all looks great. I feel like it would be mean to ask how much golf you have gotten to play given all the work here.

after some time away, i’m back!

here’s what’s been going on at the house since i was here last.

at this point, i honestly wish we would’ve bought land and built from the ground up like we originally wanted to, but we’re making due.

carpet tiles/kids playroom in the basement

ripped off the 3 level deck in the back and had a ~2000 sqft concrete patio poured and stamped.

Sounds like it would have been easier to build, but you’re making progress

knowing us, we would’ve built and then wanted to change everything a year later anyway.

definitely getting there.

all outside work is done for this year but we have a few interior projects to keep us busy this winter.

Sounds indeed like a saint, an all of us here are glad the work has not detracted from the golf

Amazing the projects. Looks awsome. How did all the rest of the clearing go in the back and how much loom did you need to bring in?

Looks like some good trees there, pear?
