I had a really good round this weekend. I hit the ball great. Putted well just struggled with speed. I missed several birdie chances inside 20ft. Still shot -1 on a tough course. Looking forward to working my butt off over the next 28 days to prepare for Olympic Club

Had a great round today after a great range session this weekend. I shot -5 67. It’s not a long course but it’s tough especially with the wind today. Every part of the game was working. Especially the wedges and short game.

Yesterday my team and I were selected to compete in the Fleet Week San Diego Captains Cup. They picked the teams with the lowest handicaps from each Service to compete against each other in a 4 man best ball. And my team representing the Navy brought home the trophy. We struggled with putting all day but shot -5 to win by 1. I was +4 thru 4 holes and brought it back to even par. I missed 3 putts inside 10ft for birdie that I hit on my line and just lipped out. Just another positive moving forward, 12 days remaining.

Absolutely. Made 4 birdies and no bogeys to finish. The bad start was me trying to take advantage of the format and trying shots I wouldn’t normally try. I stopped that nonsense and played well after that.

I’m curious. When one gets to the level you are, and has shot a number of rounds in the 60’s, what happened that caused the 79? Was it just the course was that much tougher than what was recently played? Not course at all? I had a kid I coached who would run into scores like this and I never understood why.

For me it’s usually a couple of bad breaks or just something is slightly off with the swing. I was playing a course I had never played, I got a couple bad breaks and bad lies around the greens and that’s all she wrote.
