DannyDips
I made two purchases in 2018 due in part to the MSG reviews. The first was a PING G400 LST. My local teaching pro is a PING fitter and MGS reviews led me to upgrade from my Taylormade SLDR. I've played about 10 rounds with the new driver and to say I'm impressed is an understatement. It might be the best upgrade I've ever made in my golf bag. Its so easy to control and mishits are still on the board. Probably helped that he fit the correct shaft, stiffness and loft but still it's a huge upgrade. The second was a Tommy Armour Impact Series No. 3. After seeing the positive MGS reviews and testing a Ping Tyne (similar head shape) I found a decent deal on eBay. Put on a new grip and lengthened it a couple inches. I've used it a lot on my birdieball putting green and played couple rounds with it. I'll have to say I'm slightly disappointed with it on the course. It rolls great on the putting green but I had some issues with distance control on long putts and accuracy on short putts. Made me miss my Bettinardi. I can still see how the club can be highly rated, it might just not fit my putting stroke (I think my tempo may be a touch quick for a full mallet putter). DStein9
I have just recently discovered My GolfSpy (MGS) and as such have yet to use these reviews to purchase golf products. I have been part of Titleist' golf ball testing program over the years. I am currently a golf associate at Dick's Sporting Goods where I use the hitting bay and launch monitor when I am off-work to compare clubs until the weather and COVID-19 clear up. I am looking to use reviews to determine my next irons and driver purchase. I was a 5.4 handicap 15 years ago but due to work conflicts I was limited in my play opportunities until now. Thanks to practice at Dick's I've gotten my driver swing speed back over 100 mph regularly and plan to resurrect my game this year. sirchunksalot

RetiredBoomer
I've honestly never bought equipment based on reviews anywhere. Usually, if it looks like I might be able to hit it well, that's the key indicator. If the ball I'm playing goes out of production, I might read ball reviews. But balls come in sleeves of three at our pro shop. I can actually try them before settling on one. coyote_jones
I'm currently gaming OnCore Elixr golf balls. They received positive reviews during the ball testing and were right in my budget. I am still debating if my game could benefit from a more "tour" level ball, but for now I'm enjoying the Elixr. I've also purchased a Putt Out. It's addicting and has helped my stroke...I think... I also purchased the Inesis Waterproof Grip shoes. Again, they were in my budget and I liked the looks. I wrote an unofficial review on them and how I've liked them so far. I'm sure there will be more to come. sirchunksalot and bens197 2 Quote WITB Driver: Ping G30 10.5 Stiff Fairway wood: Titleist 917F2 16.5 Stiff Irons: Callaway Apex CF16 Steel Fiber i95 Stiff (5-PW) Wedges: Vokey 52, 56 Putter: Odyssey White Hot #

NotZoro
MSG influenced my driver purchase of a Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero, and switch to a ProV1x from Chrome Soft and both have worked out very well for me. I'm a recovering putter-ho so MSG was the enabler that persuaded me to acquire another one: Ping GS Tyne 4 ...once again, a solid choice but I just haven't had the streaky-hot day that I've had with my old Hagen Gentle Ben, especially on severely breaking putts. cksurfdude

I am really looking forward to it when the crisis is all over! The experience was very good. Jason took plenty of time asking about my game and what i wanted to improve. Then I hit a couple dozen balls with my clubs to establish a baseline. Jason started putting together head/shaft combos until the results showed improvement. It didn't take many combos for Jason to find the right make up for me. We did have to take some liberty in fitting for loft/lie because at the time of my fitting he wasn't set up to adjust that like you may see on the topline fitting carts. But once I received my clubs and I started hitting balls on the range, it was apparent he was spot on. I went for my fitting on a Friday and my clubs were at my door the following Wednesday. I spent the entire month of January going to Golf Galaxy and PGA Superstores hitting all of the clubs in the same class as the 699's and for me they performed at the very top of all the clubs I hit. I even went through a Titlest fitting at my local club. The top 3 irons for me in my elementary research were the 699's, Titleist T200's, and Srixon Z785's. With the results being so similar it was a no brainer for me to select the 699's based on value. I believe I also received a better fitting club than the Titleist fit, the specs were vastly different and results prove it. So if Sycamore isn't too far from you i would say by all means it is worth your time to go see Jason and go through a fitting. TR1PTIK
I've never purchased anything based on MGS reviews alone and never just go for the #1 or #2 in a product category. I use their information to help make a decision on things that I've probably been looking at for some time. All that changed today though. I originally wasn't interested in CBD products - I had seen the market flooded with stuff and Instagram "influencers" (more like peddlers) pushing stuff of questionable origin. What they posted in the blog today was well done (IMO) and convinced me to at least give CBD a shot. So now I've got a topical ointment on order from Purekana.
