If the ball is contacted BELOW the rim, no goaltending. I haven't gone back and watched the play in slow-mo, so I'm not sure if it hit the backboard before the pin, but if it hit the board below the rim, no matter what, it would be legal.

I pinned a guy's shot at the square in college and got called for a foul! Boy, was I ticked! Never touched anything but the ball. Hard for officials because they will ALWAYS be trailing that play as it's a fast break, and they're also to the side. Last night's play did not appear to be goaltending to me. Besides, the loss was by 17. That extra 2 wouldn't have been the difference.

Good to know, it definitely was below the goal before he pinned it between the rim and the backboard. I had no stake in the game as a UNLV fan, so I'm not really saying it had anything to do with the outcome. That blocked dunk was actually insane though. Volleyball blocked him I almost spilled all of my food when I jumped up and said OHHH SHIEETTT!

I am so psyched about the Huskies going to the Big East. Not a football school, never have been. So happy that is over with!

And we have a top 20 recruiting class coming this year even before that announcements. Dan Hurley will bring us back.

FINALLY!!! Huskies are home again. I’m going to miss the bus trips from the Villages to UCF & USF & Gainesville but I’ll get over it. The football program never really gained traction.
I am excited about this move, finally!!

I do miss old school Big East Basketball. I’m a Pitt fan and I loved the years of Pitt UConn and Syr battling it out at MSG during the Big East Tournament.

BUMP!

Only because of the fight between KU and KSU last night. I think that's the spark College Basketball needed to get folks to tune in after our college football hangover. 

I personally don't think the suspensions will be that harsh. Lots of talk from coaches saying their sorry but suspensions will be for a half of basketball at a date to be determined between now and 2022. It's Bill Self for crying out loud.

Can I just drop in and say Clemson beat UNC in Chapel Hill for the first time in 60 attempts (Wofford accomplished this feat twice before Clemson did ) and Clemson took down Duke at home, all within a week!  What a great time for college basketball!

I’ll go to “shoot around” later at 2pm to see their game plan for tonight’s game, then watching tonight at 7pm.
Top-notch facility! Right there with two I’ve seen recently, Michigan State, and Texas.

My co-worker took me to the LSU game tonight. His wife works for Lamar Advertising and they have great seats to everything in Louisiana! It was a good night to see my Tigers come from behind to win. I haven’t seen a hoop game in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center since I did stats for Dale Brown and John Brady!

Oh, and here are some pics of the football stadium, and the Billy Cannon statue.

Where I used to work! The Athletic Dept. I used to watch the Super Regionals going on across the street from the roof! Skip Bertman!!!!

Andy Kennedy, who did color for tonight’s game, was at this same week of camp with me. I showed him the pic at half.

Second season ending injury for UConn yesterday. :(

I’m excited for the future of that program with the return to the Big East and Danny Hurley’s second recruiting class coming in. The AAC is not that bad a league it’s just that there are no logical rivals and it’s ridiculously spread out

Georgetown, Providence, St John’s and Villanova twice a year makes sense - and Madison Square Garden is a great recruiting tool! :)

No doubt! Heck, my Freshman year, after games, we had to SHARE THE SHOWERS with the visiting team!!!! We had to pay for our shoes too! $30 a pair, or full retail, but these kids get all KINDS of swag for FREE!

When I coached HS, we went to a rural HS here in N La one night. The bathroom and locker room was ONE room, and the one toilet they had was in the MIDDLE of the room, no doors, no nothing. Sadly, one of our kids had to go! Poor guy had to do it in front of 17 people!

COVID already causing havoc on the season. I don’t understand the logic between football and basketball. Football coach gets Covid, team still plays. Basketball coach gets COVID, cancel the game. I’m really hoping there’s a full season but it’s not off to a great start.

there’s been a complete lack of logic with all aspects of the covid guidelines. sports aren’t immune to that 

MLB - coaches and (some?) bench players wear a mask in the dugout, but the rest of the team doesn’t. then everyone crams into the clubhouse and on to the team bus without masks. 

welcome to 2020 where nothing makes sense and everything is terrible!

It’s bitter sweet.  There are half a dozen good games in this market DC/MD over the next week, that i would be normally be covering, but are restricted in media availability.   So i may only get to 1 or 2.  But  then again some of these games wouldn’t have been scheduled if not for Covid—UMBC at Georgetown and Towson at Maryland. 
 

They also moved the ACC Tournament out of DC back to Greensboro.  I was really looking forward to that  

i too have serious doubts that a season will be completed.
